I wouldn't have thought lighting makes any difference on the ILS after all if it's foggy the lights won't be seen and also an ils is a fully instrument landing and not a visual landing.

So they are going to position an A330 in, then position a 744 in for the Sunday flight. Seems silly!

is it me or do the inboard and outboard engines of the Virgin 747 look different? The inner looks Rolls Royce to me, while the outer looks more General Electric! Is that possible?

I cant see them coming here. We have Manchester 40 mins away for Long haul, Newcastle and East Mids dont have many Long haul destinations, so it makes more sense. I guess they will come to Leeds on the odd occasion for maintenance

So the plane to be used is one that normally sits for 18 hours on the ground between flying to and from South Africa. How does that plane get to SA and back in 6 hours?!!! Or are they using 2 aircraft on the route!?

I'd imagine it will be changed every so often. It won't stay at the same airport the whole time. They normally rotate them so that one plane isnt doing the same cycles every week.

Just wondering if anyone knows the route the PIA flight takes to ISB? I was up on the Chevin tonight and the PIA came off of 32 and turned left towards the POL Departure. I would have thought it would go more towards Hull and out across the North Sea.
