    Leeds Bradford - General Thread

to be fair that easyjet did land very late. It looked to land on the 2000ft markers which is a full 1000ft away from the ideal landing point!

    Fly bmi

Re: British Midland International (BMI) It's the same with trains! I recently travelled to London on the Grand Central train from Bradford. I knew the conductor so I got a ride in 1st class but a fella was prepared to pay an extra £150 to upgrade his economy ticket to first just so he could...

    Potential Routes

I would like to see a direct route to LAX open up (I believe New Zealand airways are doing so?) so that the US West Coast is more easily accessed. I'm sure business and leisure passengers would provide enough demand. I would also like to see a route to South America, I'm sure that would pull in...

    Fly bmi

Re: British Midland International (BMI) Wait till you see the fares for the ferry to Zeebrugge whoshotjimmi, just as staggering as bmi! (Well at least I thought they were!) I was looking at getting to Brussels for a festival near the end of June, Norfolk line ferries was the cheapest from...

Archive Spotting Movements Log & Heads Up

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up Just looking at the Casper website (btw thanks for making me aware of this!), at around 1750 a Lufthansa A340-300 passed just south of Leeds on route from Frankfurt to Newark USA. Reg D-AIGN! The picture also looks like it could well be an A340...

    EWR connection time?

I have flown through EWR before on a Manchester to Miami trip, I arrived in terminal C so didn't need to switch terminals though. It took around 45mins to an hour to get through Customs, collect bags, and then go through security again, I think! (Can't quite remember, it was 18 months ago)...

Visitors & Personalities Passing Through LBA

I'm surprised Wigan used LBA and not MAN today! I guess they will be going to the golf resorts for a few weeks seen as they are out of the cup!

    Etihad Airways

My sister and partner flew Etihad this past Thursday from Mumbai via Abu Dhabi. They said the aircraft and the service was the best they have ever had. Just looking at the 'On board' section on the Etihad website shows just how great it looks on board! World_rep since when has Emirates gone 3x...

    Future Infrastructure Developments

Re: Infrastructure Developments Shouldn't it be Interserve themselves and not the airport doing the hiring for their business?!

    Pakistan International Airlines

Ha silly me! I was using a route finder website I found, and didn't enable NAT (oceanic) tracks! Therefore the 6681nm track was going all the way down through Europe and along the African coast, crossing to Brazil and then up again! My apologies!

Rumours about new destinations or airlines?

Dubai is 3100 NM away, which is 100nm less than the range of an A320! A standard A319 could make it with 400nm to spare!

    Pakistan International Airlines

White Heather, LBA-ISB 3500NM, LBA-YYZ (Toronto) 6681NM. Doubt we will see any change in aircraft on this route until the 787 is around!

    Star Alliance

Re: bmi baby luggage allowance Quite sure you will be flying on BMI as aviador has mentioned. The baggage allowance is 30kg for Business travellers and 20kg for Economy. http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/flight- ... ation.aspx

    Ryanair

I cant see Ryanair pulling out of LBA, not for a long time, unless the terminal doesn't actually get re developed! Ryanair has one of its largest bases at Liverpool and they opened up a base at Manchester without a struggle, so why cant they have LBA too! I know your going to say they can't...

    Route Development & Rumours

Re: Potential Routes I guess these ad hoc flights are already sold so they may not have a reason to advertise it.
