I have just seen on facebook that Westjet are announcing a new route from Cardiff and Glasgow to Toronto Pearson. I just do not understand why LBA has not managed to secure a deal with Westjet too. Compared to Cardiff, we have a much larger catchment area.
Just my take on the very sudden change by Coppard from being cautious for the go ahead to "I am now going to say yes" could be that if he knows LBA and possibly other airports are likely to launch a legal challenge which could hold up or even stop the project, he can say he did everything he...
Was the same for me a few weeks ago flying to Faro. Can't understand why there is not more self check in machines and more space around them. Perhaps that may happen with the revamp of the current terminal.
A brilliant report WH...thanks for giving us the lowdown on developments. From your report I see LBA reaching for the skies moving forward! Roll on 2026.
With the announcement of expansion of Jet 2 and Easyjet at LBA, and seemingley more to come with all the huge development taking place there, could this be a nail in the coffin for DSA getting off the ground?
All very relevant reasons why DSA failed and lets remember, since it closed, LBA, Man and EMA are all investing huge sums of money developing their airports with more flights and more capacity, so even harder for a re opened DSA to survive
Couldn't believe it, and Calendar did the same, a positive news story, apart from saying West Yorkshire airport LBA.....no, it should have been Yorkshire's airport!
If you were at LBA last weekend, then you will have seen the huge construction site with the £100m development now taking place, so logistics won't be an issue when it's built in the next couple of years.
Just hear that
Just heard my flight back from Faro on the 23rd May cancelled.....always use Jet 2, but Ryanair was a lot cheaper so booked with them....be sticking with jet 2 now!
