I am with you all 100% and I believe Look North should be challenged...where were the residents in NW Leeds, the vast majority like me, who could not care less about the noise, and welcome the fact the airport is busy and growing....look at Donny residents and how they fought for their...
Looks good and a real improvement on how they were before
I will reserve judgement until I see this in the flesh, but from the pics, it looks awful. I get it if the ceiling was much higher, but it looks like the pipework and silver cladding is looming over peoples heads...the wood ceiling shown...
Thanks for the update White Heather, really comprehensive report and showing LBA is in a strong position for the future with a vastly improved and extended terminal in the next few years, and that all important Parkway station built in 3 years if the Council stick to their timetable.
Happy New Year to everyone here....I am pleased to have joined this forum at a positive time for LBA with the potential for exciting developments and growth in 2023 and beyond.
Its all positive news, now we need the world to see the plans that LBA are drawing up for a modernised terminal and show how they are going to give all these extra passengers a positive flying experience from LBA, and LCC move forward quickly with the park and ride station
So a real win in my estimations would be for LBA to release pics of the new terminal development as soon as they can to say we are working hard to accommodate more people in a good environment from across Yorkshire, and LCC announce they are moving forward with the parkway station also...
This is what really makes me angry. Whilst DSA get massive support from the local population, MP's. the council. Govt, even the media, LBA gets nothing but abuse from our local MP's, media, and many councillors and the GALBA nutters. OK I will give it that LCC did approve the new terminal, but...
I am so incensed with the actions of Alex Sobel being the local MP that I wonder if it would be a good idea for an official letter to him stating the concerns from most people on this forum would be worthwhile. Have you ever thought about everyone coming together and writing as one?
So looking at flight departures for tomorrow (Sat) for 4 airports, and you realise how well LBA has bounced back against the others:
LBA - 52
NCL -52
LPL- 45
EMA-43
This is happening on a daily basis with LBA being ahead of LPL and EMA every day and close or the same as NCL. Really shows the...
Keep monitoring departures from LBA, EMA, LPL, and consistently LBA has more daily:
Saturday:
LBA 51
EMA 43
LPL 42
NCL has only 4 more on Sat......the bounceback at LBA has been incredible, shows demand and why we need to develop the terminal asap
What surprised me was how well LBA are doing against the likes of EMA and LPL who I always saw as having bigger passenger throughput than LBA
Here's Thursdays count:
departures
LBA 52
LPL 45
EMA 38
Pre pandemic, I am sure LBA was lower in flight departures than these 2 airports
I was intrigued to see how many flights were departing from LBA and a few other selected airports today (25th May), and was surprised at the results:
NCL 54
LBA 43
EMA 36
LPL 35
DSA 10
LBA doing well against all but NCL
