The A320/A320neo certainly have the range to make it to Doha/Abu Dhabi, although to achieve this they would need to be pretty much at MTOW. I'm not an expert in this area, but I think the A320 actually needs quite a long runway for this scenario, maybe 7000ft+.
Aside from operational...
The topic of longhaul from Bristol is, to me, one of the most interesting. I find the trip east to LHR, or worse LGW, to be a real pain but often find KLM/Air France prices uncompetitive. My view is that hope for BRS longhaul comes from the MEB3, particularly Emirates and Qatar, both of which...

Press release confirming construction of the central walkway is officially underway. There's also an interesting walk through video showing the passenger journey. It all looks great!
It appears the walkway won't, initially at least, have...
Dubai would be a great step forward for the airport.

I do wonder if these proposals, along with the welsh governments acquisition of Cardiff, are undermining confidence in expansion at Bristol. Despite good passenger...

I noticed the other day that Helvetic codeshares with Swiss on their BHX-ZRH route, opening up the whole Swiss network. I wonder why the same agreement is not in place on the BRS-ZRH route as, presumably, it would give loads a huge shot in the arm? It would be great to see a few more long haul...
I have noticed this pattern with a350 orders as well. One bit of hope for Bristol is that airbus are developing a "hot and high" varient of the 900 to be delivered to Qatar, Etihad, and Emirates that has a higher thrust rating.
The BRS runway is frustratingly close to being sufficient...
