Well, taking a rather simplistic approach I admit, looking at their route map, there is a huge area around the southwest of England and Wales where they currently do not fly. The rest of the country seems well served by Qatar so if I were a betting man...
Interesting little press release from the airport tonight:
easyJet celebrates record 2016 with more expansion to come at Bristol Airport in 2017
easyJet, Bristol’s largest airline and the largest UK base outside of London, flew more than four million passengers during the course of 2016 - an...
Mykonos, Santorini and Stuttgart would be welcome additions too. I did Tallinn from LGW. Lovely place I would recommend people to visit. Would love to see a route there from BRS.
and I've just copied and pasted your post from last year and added the approximate increases on each route...
The ten busiest routes in 2015 were:
Amsterdam 384,000 (24,000 increase in 2016)
Dublin 378,000 (21,000 increase)
Edinburgh 352,000 (29,000 increase)
Malaga 300,000 (37,000 increase)...
I've flown Qantas LHR to DXB. It was a codeshare with Emirates so the interior of the A380 was completely unbranded. It was weird.
Not a fan of Dubai airport either. Awful place, but that was mainly due to the speed of the 1 guy at passport control.
On the other hand, Abu Dhabi is amazing and...
Let's face it, most people that go to the Middle East go to Dubai so anything other than EK would be a slight disappointment although still a very nice addition for BRS. Maybe I'm biased as I couldn't see me using a Qatar flight over Emirates or Etihad.
I agree that SAS, Finnair, Air France...
Press release said Cologne flights were on sale immediately but I can't see they're available after looking at the website or the app. I hope the route hasn't been axed already!
Better timings than at BHX. Some rumblings of discontent can be seen on their forum (despite one member calculating these routes will make 47 new routes for the year!). Their Malaga flight lands at 2:25am apparently, although I haven't checked this.
The MD at BHX said something along the lines of we are confident this is the beginning of a long-term growth plan with the airline.
The same wasn't said in the BRS press release so do we think this will be 4 routes for the summer only at BRS, or the start of something bigger all year round?
I think it is good news. It's a small airport that services a major tourist city. I would imagine most people that visit Florence by plane come in through Pisa. Only Vueling out of the locos fly into Florence. If it were more regular than once per week it might affect the EasyJet's Pisa service...
£94 return to Florence in September. Bargain. Shame it's a once-weekly flight though as Florence is on my shortlist of places to visit. Maybe I could use BA out and EasyJet from Pisa to return.
Great to have the national flag carrier back at the airport.
Great news. I want to see Ryanair increasing their offering from BRS especially to Germany (and Scandinavia) but I wonder how this might effect the BMI route to Düsseldorf? The two airports are only 35 minutes by car apart. If the Ryanair flights are half the price of BMI, might people be...
