    Birmingham: Airport - Video Thread

Yeah, it happens there most days! I'm sure the man (or lady) in the tower had it all under control... Nice to see BHX so busy though, keep it up!

    Birmingham: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

In total 1,118,452 people were recorded travelling through the airport last month, up by 13.1% compared to the same month last year. This equates to over 129,000 more passengers travelling through the airport in June and brings the 2016 running total for passengers using the facility up to over...

    Birmingham: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

Having looked at EDI-DOH, this recorded 9702 pax for the same period. Based (I think) on 60 rotations, this would be a LF of 63.7%, which makes the BHX figure incredible for a first month - shurely shome mishtake?

    Birmingham: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

If the "unknown destination" is Doha, my wonky maths makes it a 92.2% LF. Impressive stuff, or I can't add up...

LHR-NAP on JAL? I'm willing to bet your memory IS faulty in this instance! I've been wrong before though, 1984, I think it was...:p

    Birmingham: Route Development & Rumours

Don't forget that there will be a significant difference between "what's in the brochure" and what's practical when it comes to performance specifications; tha maximum quoted range would never be attainable in practice due to operational contstraints like ETOPS, diversion/missed approach...

    Random Stuff!

Think the prices to "Birmingham" are all the same, regardless of which way you go, you can certainly do it on one ticket. In my experience, the quickest way to New St from Kidderminster is to stay on the train to Moor St (after Snow Hill) and walk from there...

    Birmingham: Route Development & Rumours

What I'm struggling to grasp is how a 4th daily (as mooted for MAN) fits in with the "waves" at DXB; what timings would such a flight have? With the exception of LHR (which has 8 daily flights or something ridiculous), all of the major hubs (CDG, FRA, LGW(!), AMS) have 3 daily flights, quite...

    Blue Air

A country of contrasts, you've either got a Bugatti or a Dacia, nowhere in between! I'm a veteran of Bucharest, not a place I'm longing to go back to - Transylvania, on the other hand... Great result for BHX, hope it works out!

I'm confused by CX at MAN; as a bit of an old-timer, I seem to recall them operating MAN-HKG (as did BA, maybe via LGW?) using 742s, around 1989/1990. Am I totally wrong or did they stop for a while and re-start?

    Birmingham: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

Regarding May, I tend to be a "glass half full" type of chap and, while acknowledging that double-digit increases are certainly not for sniffing at, am I alone in being a tad nonplussed by "just" 11%?
