The terminal extension hasn’t opened yet and this extra weekly flight is for next summer so there’s still plenty of time to add if they see fit but surely an increase in frequency is better than decreasing.
It’s a forum for discussion so I don’t understand the point you’re making exactly but an increase is better than nothing.
Hopefully more routes will be on the cards next Dalaman. Bodrum has been announced from other UK airports but we can hope.
Then you’ve pretty much answered your own question as to why it’s cheaper there and pricier at LBA.
Perhaps KLM could do with some competition. Shame Jet2 dropped AMS use to be daily and a good service to use.
LBA has a big catchment aswell. Obviously Leeds and Bradford but you’ve also got North Yorkshire and the East coast which are catchments to LBA. Plenty of room for growth here regardless of MAN
Except probably for TUI. Wizz won’t be as they appear happy at LBA and have claimed they won’t move back if DSA was to reopen
Otherwise I don’t see anyone else moving there
My view is that like others have mentioned they’re no use for the likes of shopping going to work ect
To me it also seems like LCC are putting the cycle lanes in areas that are not popular for cycling as opposed to areas which are. They should be spending money on better things as opposed to...
But he has accomplished that point as Ryanair operate out of the Airport
I can’t comment on his other points regarding the airport but that one is correct is it not?
I thought you were hinting at Jet2 since this thread is called “Jet2 Doncaster?”
I’m sceptical as they could’ve operated from DSA when they were open but never did so wouldn’t know why it would be anymore viable to now. Plus as mentioned above they are short of aircraft and with AMS having slot...
What airline would that be? Can’t be Jet2 as much as some would love to think that they would operate from DSA but have ruled out any more bases and they are LBA and EMA which are nearby. If anything they should be focusing on getting it open before talking to airlines about possible operations...
EI-HDK spent along time on the ground there presumably tech and then departed hours late. Might have been bringing some spare part in for it perhaps.
Either way every time I’ve seen Aer Lingus divert they don’t usually return to LBA so can’t have been weather related. Likely operational reason.
@White Heather Thankyou for the detailed report a good read and good to see the airport are talking to US airlines about possible flights in the future.
Welcome to the forum but I have to say I disagree with most of your points
The Airport hasn’t even reopened and we don’t know whether it ever will so I’m not sure how they can be talking to airlines when the airport itself is still closed.
Jet2 have ruled out more bases so can’t see them ever...
Which is fine but just because they’ve posted something on twitter does not always mean that it’s been taken from themselves.
Information doesn’t always come from those 2 users in question.
I’m sure there’s users on here that work for companies and will get some sort of heads up with regards...
