    Birmingham: Airport (Questions & Reviews)

Easy answer is no. Chances are, security will already be closed. It closes as soon as last flight passengers are through. Not sure of the departure time of the last flight on that day,Richard, but passengers on flights the following morning are rarely allowed to go airside overnight.

    Random Stuff!

Aircraft model store(AMS),is legit and very reliable for all aircraft models.I have used them on numerous occasions and never had a problem.Sure, sometimes they can be expensive at times, but if you join their mailing list, some decent offers can come into play.Aviation Retail Direct is another...

    Road, Rail & Access

I can see where you are coming from, and,i cannot say i totally disagree.Unfortunately with revenues from flights decreasing due to the lo-cost nature of many flights, airports have to get income from somewhere. It is a catch 22 situation, that no easy fix is coming soon.Getting to BHX at the moment...

    Road, Rail & Access

Car parking has always been an issue at BHX.I think the powers that be are trying to encourage more people to use public transport to get to the airport.Car park 6 incidently was only given over to staff recently, previously we were in car park 5 along with passengers.Staff have been moved around...

    The Official Tribute Thread

Don’t remember Jimmy Greaves, the player.I do remember him as one of the original football pundits. Always looking to see the funny side, but having the honesty and passion to speak his mind.Something today’s pundits could learn to do,with a bit of humour and be less egotistical. Will be missed by...

    British Airways Cityflyer

I did say that there was possibly room for two airlines on the route. Belfast City or International have always been popular from BHX. However ,what happens when more familiar resorts become available again. Will the staycation trend continue?

Birmingham: Airport Retail and Food & Drink Outlets Thread

Hi all,a quick update for the goings on airside at BHX. The WHSmith store between security and the Duty Free store is now open again. Not sure of the opening time, but it does close around 6pm. The Duty Free store has extended it's opening hours till 10pm. The Dixons store has now...

    British Airways Cityflyer

Funny, i could have sworn somebody said there was a 'ZERO CHANCE' of BAW returning to BHX.:giggle: In all seriousness though it does raise a question, 'WHY NOW?'. The return of FlyBe, may be one reason.Wasn't BHD one of the original FlyBe standout performing routes? Will this new...

    Random Stuff!

Aircraft nicknames. C130 Hercules ‘Fat Albert’,although I am not sure if that name was applied fleetwise or just the ‘Blue Angels’ support plane. B737-200 The Flying Pig.Tad unfair in my opinion. MD80 Flying Screwdriver.I think that only refers to certain certain versions of the aircraft that...

The 'Hundred' - new England/Wales city-based franchise cricket competition

Like Kevin and TLY,I thought I would give the ‘Hundred’ a watch.I saw the women’s game between London and Manchester, then the men’s game between the same teams. Overall i couldn’t really see much difference to the twenty twenty matches. In fact ,wasn’t the ‘big bash’ introduced for the same...

Now I am back at work, sort of semi full time.I thought I would update you all on the goings on in the retail sector at BHX. As more destinations become available, and more flights added, our airports should start to look a little more like their old selves in the coming months, hopefully. We all...

    UEFA Euro 2020

Very disappointed this morning. The lads played really well, and probably were beaten by a far more experienced team. That is as much as I would like to say about the game itself. The backlash from pundits and other media though is becoming interesting. It is being suggested that certain senior...

    UEFA Euro 2020

Indeed JENNYJET. For those with longer memories, you may recall a certain PM by the name of Margaret Thatcher. Mrs Thatcher became one of the most hated, yet most respected English politicians/leaders in history. Why? Well she stood up for what she believed in,and also stood up to the Euro...

    UEFA Euro 2020

Thing is ladies and gentlemen,UEFA caused their own problems years ago by having vast swathes of the Northern Hemisphere sign up to their competitions.
