Review of SQ business class between MAN and IAH. It is obviously very quiet load wise, but you would expect the airline to permit a test around its most quiet time.
Short interview with Trisha Williams, MAN's Chief Operations Officer on 5live's "wake up to money" programme.
When questioned on MAN's network in the lead up to and post-Brexit, it was mentioned that 70% of MAN's network was in Europe, but moving forward:
"Our growth aspiration is to have more...
That's one way of looking at it Jerry, although I think you'd acknowledge that a new runway in a couple of years is optimistic even for LHR!!!
My take is that it reflects LHR's belated realisation that they are losing (amongst others) the regional connectivity argument and they want to try and...
It is encouraging just how far CX got to with plans for 11x weekly. Perhaps their next round of expansion will bear fruit at MAN.
It'll be interesting to see how they do numbers wise over the next few months. December should be their record month at MAN.
It's almost as though they want to artificially boost numbers on regional flights for some reason...

Wasn't MIA summer seasonal by TCX?
Seems odd. I'd have thought MIA (and CPT) would be ideal winter seasonal routes for the downtime when the likes of LAX, SFO are not operating.
Well, Adonis stated reason for standing down is due to the Transport Secretary's decision to bail out VTEC as opposed to setting up a public company as he did in 2009. He probably has a point.
Other issues Adonis was a vocal supporter of include LHR Runway 3, Crossrail 2 and NPR (HS3).

when the December 2017 data is out I will try and find time to compare the annual totals of the major long haul routes (and short haul to the major EU hubs) against previous years (it might be interesting to see where it lies against 2007 if anyone has the data!
Cheers @IanFarquharson wondering what basis EK would expand BHX during a Lon off peak period when their major European routes have cuts in capacity? Or are you referring to long term expansion?
I think that's a fair comment, but if you look at a June start rather than a March start (which seems more likely for most of the above if they happen) early 2018 is about right.
I'll try and round up the current/ongoing rumours (some of which have more substance than others), starting with long haul and moving to short haul:
SpiceJet: possible daily DEL-MAN, B77W
Oman Air: possibly second daily, and/or B787 equipment change.
Qatar: possible increase in weekly rotations...
Is the niche for BACF not a subset of a city pair's overall clientele rather than the it's pair being unserved?
In that instance, the airports of Rome fall into the same category as those in and around Milan, Berlin etc. Albeit BACF can pick the one that best serves the needs of their customers?
Quite right @Jerry - I do wonder whether if it is IAG (and this is a big if) they might cascade some of the ERJ from BACF to another brand. For a MAN example, Iberia could use some to copy TAP's routes to MAN for South American connections.
All conjecture!
Re BACF - more rotations on existing routes should be a priority, with the sort of niche city routes User mentions as a "next step" for the FF base in Manchester (would also help AA, QR, CX long haul). I'd add Rome, Madrid, Dublin, Belfast, and Edinburgh/Glasgow to this list.
If BACF are...
I am trying to be fancy and use multi-quote. Fingers crossed the formatting works okay and is easy to follow...
I had not picked up on this suggestion. Both are major tourist attractions and, in the case of Sri Lanka is one where a regular scheduled service is not out of the question over...
