They are both part of the same group - Airline investment group- owned by the Bond Brothers. They are apparently going to be working closer together after the BE split.

The route has apparently been marginal at best and the aircraft can be utilised on other (more profitable) routes.

Until summer that's correct but Uniteds GLA flights will return along with the seasonal DL/AA flights.

Upper class from BOS could be struggling a little. Quite a lot of fares for £1000 which is cheaper than PE on most flights. For business class £1000 is an absolute bargain.

    Archive Route Development & Rumours

Slot wise your using one pair of slots to serve two destinations so that could be seen as more beneficial if PVG is super constrained. It could be they are waiting on or even have ARN slots so no need for EDI slots to be requested.

That's business I'm afraid. MAN will see Shanghai but even if EDI sees as service first does it really matter that much? The route will most likely be PVG-ARN-EDI-ARN-PVG thus only requiring one set of slots. I can se why you may want MAN to be first outside London to get the route and I...

    Monarch Airlines

G-ZBAV has not be used before and isn't currently CAA registered . It is used as a virtual registration in online flight simulators. It will of course become a in service reg when adopted by MON. If this is what you are referring to it is an online flight simulator hence the name Flight...

No they haven't. I think that BrumX may be referring to the pending APD cut which of course is in the process of being devolved to Scotland. Although I don't see why that is a negative thing.

PE is not being droppped. PE is classed in th Y code for some reason so that's why. It is in fact being improved with the new 'wonderwall' being added to bring in line with the 787.

Demand between Scotland and the US

I don't think IAH will start from Scotland anytime soon, the oil downturn won't help a business case. Even so it's a 2.30hr journey from ABZ to GLA/EDI you'd be quicker using LHR. DL on BOS is unlikely as they don't have a large TX presence from there, JetBlue/Norwegian are the most likely...

Demand between Scotland and the US

For leisure to BOS,LAX etc it would most likely be TCX at GLA, although B6 could start to GLA/EDI. I doubt much political traffic exists between EDI and IAD exists but other traffic could be a different story. VS could grow more and open a base at GLA as more A330s are released from LHR and...

Demand between Scotland and the US

The Scotland to USA market it's fairly large. It is hard to judge demand for any one destination without actual airline figures, which you won't have much chance of getting. For 2017 GLA&EDI will have a fair share of US flights. First week in July for example. GLA EWR UA- Daily PHL AA - Daily...

    Glasgow Prestwick - General Thread

More likely than not all the pax at PIK would be using GLA so around 600,000 pax a year being lost at GLA. Very little commercial viability for PIK in the passenger side, they should focus on cargo and training etc.

    Glasgow Prestwick - General Thread

Don't imagine GLA is very happy with its closest rival being subsidised. If they cut another deal with Ryanair then PIK will be finished as a passenger airport. Ryanair are launching 10 routes from GLA within the next 6 months, only a matter of time until the PIK routes are moved.
