The 216 service from Cardiff to Bristol Airport will run five times each way every day via Newport and Bristol. The route has been reintroduced as part of the UK’s largest coach operator’s return to the road after a three month suspension in response to covid-19. Chris Hardy, managing director of National Express UK Coach, explains: “Our iconic white fleet restarted services on 1 July, running at a reduced frequency with a focus on major towns and cities. “Overall demand and bookings have been really...

Throughout the summer period, passengers will have the opportunity to connect to up to 100 European and intercontinental destinations via Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Benedicte Duval, General Manager for UK & Ireland said, “As borders reopen and travel...
Bristol Airport's reaction to North Somerset Council's Planning & Regulatory Committee decision We are disappointed by the decision of North Somerset Council’s Planning & Regulatory Committee to recommend refusal of our planning application to increase Bristol Airport’s capacity from 10 to 12 million passengers a year, contrary to the recommendation of the Council’s own planning officers. This decision risks putting the brakes on the region’s economy by turning away airlines who want to serve the South West market, shutting the door to international trade and tourism at a time when the UK needs to show it is open for business. By preventing Bristol Airport from meeting demand for air travel from within the region it serves, the...
Bristol Airport becomes first airport in Europe to offset all road journeys The carbon offsetting scheme came into effect on 1 January and forms part of the Airport’s Carbon Roadmap which was published last year. Offsets will be purchased retrospectively based on an annual passenger survey showing the different modes of travel used by passengers. The Environmental Effects Working Group of the Airport’s Consultative Committee – on which local communities and Airport users are represented – will play a role in selecting suitable offsetting schemes, with a focus on local projects where possible. James Shearman, Head of Sustainability at Bristol Airport, said: “This commitment to offset carbon emissions from surface access recognises...
Bristol Airport Recruiting Firefighters to Join Team The role of a Bristol Airport Firefighter is not what you would expect. Despite its name, it is not all about fighting fires. Whilst responding to emergency situations and requests for help will be part of the job, being a Firefighter involves so much more. Successful applicants will take part in emergency response simulation exercises, deliver training workshops to colleagues on first aid, manual handling and general safety, promoting fire safety standards to Airport colleagues and be able to keep a cool head in a crisis. Bristol Airport is looking for people who can work as part of a team, have different strengths and experiences, are self-motivated, with good levels of...
