Birmingham will host the 2026 European Athletics Championships (first time in the UK) and BHX will be the sponsor. Nice bit of exposure (y)
Birmingham Airport has been announced as the Official Airport of the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, marking a significant partnership...
Went to the cinema at Resorts World at the weekend and popped upstairs to the Skybar Bar/Restaurant. This place is on the top floor of the building and has an outside balcony with one side having views across the NEC complex to BHX and Birmingham in the distance. You won't see much detail (reg...
This seems to be the biggest hurdle to me. There's just so much choice of times and airlines plus I often hear that it's considerably cheaper. LHR also attracts the USA based pax whereas BHX would most likely see the vast majority be UK based and America doesn't seem to be the biggest draw at...
They did Berlin too. I remember the press release saying it was doing so well they were upgrading the A319 to the A320, then I think it moved to Germanwings not long after?
We did get the runway extension albeit with a diverted A45 rather than tunnelled.
I do agree that it came much later than it should have, just like much of the terminal redevelopments (new piers etc). However, the extension has been in place since 2014 and apart from a few summer flights to...
Bit late but still...
Lufthansa is today celebrating 40 years of operations from Birmingham Airport (BHX), having commenced services from the Midlands on 1 April 1986.

Whilst it's always nice to see the 'glamour' routes in the last few years we've seen Jet2 steadily growing with new destinations, significant expansion from Ryanair after years of relative stagnation and finally a base from easyjet which has grown every year. For an airport like Birmingham that...
Circa 3 hours to AGP wasn't too bad but the 4hr 45min to LPA was uncomfortable to put it lightly. Lovely aircraft though and a little stretch of the legs every so often helped.
I think this has been covered numerous times but there is really no point in looking at the published fees on the airports website, each airline will have their own arrangement of which very few people will know the details. As said, if BHX was that expensive we wouldn't see the likes of easyet...
If you are able there is a doorway to the left of the lifts which has stairs up to the first floor. Last time I was there the signage wasn't exactly obvious but we've used them a couple of times.
Very nice.
Hopefully we'll hear about the rest of the new restaurants soon.
Congratulations to AVFC in making the final.
As it stands we have 8 Pegasus flights on 19th and 21st, Turkish A330 on 19th and 77W on 21st along with the two easyjet flights mentioned on that thread.
Obviously very much subject to change.
