Years ago, and I'm talking 35 years ago plus, I visited Smithfield Show at Earl's Court with some mates from agricultural college, they travelled down to London on Sunday and I flew down on the Monday morning. After checking my livestock I left home near Grassington at approximately 8:45 am for...
The first part of this is ever so slightly out of date as VS have been using the A35K on Orlando all of last summer and are doing this winter - we went out to MCO on the A350 a couple of weeks ago.
Interesting if it's true though that VS are looking at hiring Ex MAN based EI A330 pilots given...
We flew back in to MAN yesterday morning on the overnight Virgin A330 from JFK. Although we were in premium it was plain to see the flight was nowhere near full. So if you see that VS rotate their A330 program between JFK, Atlanta and Bridgetown Barbados that suggests there isn't the demand for...
quick question please, what's the current rules at Manchester regarding liquids in hand luggage? Are we still in little plastic bags? Travelling on Tuesday so getting prepared!
I think Norse are all B788's or 789's so given I believe LBA have stated they're not looking for wide bodies that's maybe a reason, plus, Norse already operate from Manchester and Gatwick, not sure about Birmingham
And in my case last night I watched the plane land from the cemetery, gave it a few minutes, went to the car park, sat a while in the warm, then went and stood by the arrivals to meet a couple in their late 80's who are not especially savvy with technology.
Please don't get me wrong - I'm not...
I get what you're saying - 100% - but pubs and cafes with outdoor eating areas seem to manage with them. We all know what it's like waiting and waiting of friends & family coming through arrivals - at all airports, many worse than LBA even when the arrivals area is indoor.
I had the dubious pleasure of using the posh new international arrivals facility at LBA last night for the first time to pick up my aged parents from the TFS flight. Lovely air conditioning, built in sprinkler to keep everyone cool, dim mood lighting..................thank goodness I'm a LBA...
Yes according to FR24 it's G GDFN which is fully emblazoned in Jet2 holidays livery - assuming it stays on the NQY route for a while it'll be a nice bit of early advertising at LGW for the Jet2 brand.
When we first started booking flights over 30 years ago we booked through a travel agent in Ilkley and if my memory is correct all the flights were booked through Avro ?? and flights tended to be on either Monarch, Air2000 or Caledonian. I'm guessing what Tui are now doing is similar to what...
10 tons = 2 tipper waggon loads???????? Obviously using Tonka toys then, maybe even Dinky toys :giggle:
The average '4 wheeler' carries 9.5 to 10 tons, the average '8 wheeler' carries around 20 tons.
Your little local tarmac cowboy (oops did I just say cowboy, I meant contractor ) may well use...
I hope no-one is under the illusion that just because J2 is the only company and LBA in particular is the only base for passenger B733's in the UK that J2 is the only firm to operate 'old' aircraft. There are a lot of 27/28 year old plus aircraft flying around - I spent half an hour or so...
