I Think the security area is too near the door. If they moved it a lot further in maybe the queue would not reach the door and so pyschologically, there would be no queue as queues only become an issue, in my 60 years experience, once they go out of the door.

Don't mention the.tent ever. When I stayed at the Holiday inn at BHX I looked across and thought what the "being polite" is that " being polite" tent doing at a major international airport?

At present BHX is fine. Could be a lot better if the company spent a billion quid. But having come through MXP T1 on Monday, there are far worse airports.
I think we all must have been there. Those days were so wonderful. Eating a bag of cheese and onion golden wonders, face pressed to the glass, and the smell of turbo props. Remember when airports used to let you in to watch the airport in action? To be fair when the 'new' terminal opened in 1984...
