Its technically to be seen as a signal of intention. Of course nothing may not happen with them but it's interesting that they've be applied for nonetheless.

I think they do routes on behalf of BA on the weekend. Also Emerald Airlines do as well they operate Glasgow i believe.

I've noticed that on Gatwicks W26 Initial Slot Coordination on the destinations section LeedsBradford is in the list. It says 220 movements and 15,840 seats...
Interesting suggestion. I'm curious what difference would that make? They own the airport as it is and are the sole shareholder in the company that operates it. TfW if I remember correctly had a private company operating the trains in partnership and the government just took it over.
With airlines like Qatar Airways Bristol isn't the challenge as they don't fly from Bristol. Heathrow and the capacity they have there is the challenge.
It'll be a long road to get back to that milestone and will require further investment from airlines like Ryanair and for Cardiff to attract...
Well I'd expect that the airport will just get on with it and leave it to the government to fight it but it does create some sort of uncertainty around the airport and maybe that's what Bristol wants to do just create some uncertainty to put airlines off but the court case didn't put WestJet off...
And the saga continues. Bristol Airport lost the last appeal but doesn't seem to want to admit defeat and move on so are taking the case to the Court of Appeal.
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually ended up at the Supreme Court...
