    You can always ignore them (provided they aren't staff) better still, you could hide the sidebar instead ;)

    I can't say that I've seen it overused compared to other communities (who treat it like a constant chatbox) so I'm guessing you're not an overall fan of social interaction :(

    You can change your profile settings http://www.forums4airports.com/account/privacy to "people you follow only" if you don't want guests or members seeing your status, etc. It won't stop staff spying though, they have the all seeing eye, haha!
