    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

Scheduled flights to Glasgow ceased at the end of October, so the number might be actually zero rather than missing.

    Jet2.com

At just twice weekly and with all the competition on the route these Jet2 flights to Lisbon will probably be mostly filled by the holiday business rather than competing directly with Ryanair etc.

    Cold Winter, Mild Summer?

I expect 24 includes the Airbuses. Five aircraft is in itself a huge service expansion for one summer.

    Cold Winter, Mild Summer?

Any ideas when we might expect to hear an announcement from Ryanair or Easyjet if they do add any flights for the summer? I seem to recall Easyjet waited very late this year.

    TUI Airways

What the TUi website is showing is Varadero starting 26th March. Cayo Coco doesn't show up as a destination at all.

    Jet2.com

As well as adding Mykonos, they seem to have increased peak summer frequencies to Corfu (up to 7 weekly), Heraklion (8) and Rhodes (9). Lots of capacity to Greece. I still don't think they've filled schedules for 4 additional aircraft yet though. They do need something to do with some of these...

New York...ouch. It's also by far the biggest Thomas Cook route no one has announced any extra capacity on for next summer.

    Cold Winter, Mild Summer?

Not really surprising, but there seems a decent appetite to replace Thomas Cook short haul, but not so much for long haul.

    Jet2.com

Thinking about this a bit more.. Jet2 cannot use 23 daily slot pairs. It's impossible. For flights to their usual holiday destinations that'd need 11 or 12 aircraft, which isn't going to happen. Even if they could use all the slots, Thomas Cook going bust surely proved there isn't any money to...

    Jet2.com

Seems a lot of slots for Jet2, especially considering they're only in the market to replace Thomas Cook short haul routes. It seems unlikely they'll actually be able to use that many slots next summer, which raises the question of why pay for them? A question about this whole sale process...

    TUI Airways

Sharm el Sheikh will be twice weekly from 16th February, increasing to three weekly in May.

    Ryanair

Ryanair are closing their base in Hamburg. That's the fourth German route they've dropped from Manchester in quick succession, following Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Nuremberg.

Wet summer, but maybe a sunnier winter?

Still on sale for the winter at the moment. Looks like it might be cancelled from April.

Wet summer, but maybe a sunnier winter?

Was that written before Flybe cancelled Glasgow?

    Thomas Cook

The airline was profitable from selling most of its seats to the holiday business for a price that division couldn't make money on. If someone had bought the airline, would it still be operating after the rest of Thomas Cook went under, leaving it flying empty planes?
