Apologies if wrong forum, perhaps Random Stuff? Anyway, some may be aware of, or be interested. Here in Valencian region, inc ALC, have read alot of media coverage of late, last 2 weeks, of the need for a 'Carta de Invitacion'. (This can be read if googled!) Basically to keep it short, if you like me visits family, partner etc in their own accommodation, you may be asked to provide this if requested upon arrival at Border Force.
If not staying in a hotel, your 'host' my partner in this case, legally needs to apply via local police station to have me registered with all my details and hers, for me to legally stay. Unclear about subsequent visits at this stage. If accepted, she will be provided with a stamped certificate. If asked upon arrival at ALC I do not have said Original Certificate, not copy etc, in my case I could be deported on next available flight, and my host, 'partner' could be fined upto 9000 Euros!!!! Apparently this has been in the pipelines since Brexit, but always overlooked. Now according to local media/sources, it is to be implemented, and WILL be Mandatory. As I travel regularly through ALC, I shall keep you posted. Not trying to scaremonger, but making those who like me were unaware of this procedure, are aware of the potential laws to be introduced. Ironic about EES from next Sunday, and Border Force being left to be deployed in another capacity????How thorough checks are, i don't know at this stage. If travelling elsewhere in Spain, keep us updated. Thank you.
Nothing like being made to feel welcome!!

Agreed, although after flying through Kalamata Airport last week BHX looked positively immaculate. Certainly wouldn’t want to experience a long delay there!
Flew through Kalamata years ago for a holiday in Stoupa. It was very clean. Our only issue was that it was also a military airbase so if you are delayed, you get diverted to Athens.
We had that after a ten hour delay at Manchester. Lovely view of the Acropolis though.

We also stayed in Stoupa, lovely little place - being the end of the season the resort was winding down but the weather was great and we spent most of the week soaking up the sun on Kalogria beach.

Booked PMI for next year with Jet2. Never been to Majorca so it's time to get it ticked off (y)
I went with Jet2 to PMI back in October, fantastic place to visit. The cathedral was nice to see and the town was really interesting. It was our second trip, and Jet2 were friendly and efficient. Legroom was a downside on the A321neos though, but it was quiet and smooth.

This is a fingers crossed journey...

Flights to Faro from Brum on December 27th were too expensive by the time i got round to booking so i'm taking an alternative route.

0925 Bhx to Lisbon arriving at approx 1200, then exit airport and take the meyro to Lisbon Oriente and the inter-city express train at about 1500 to Faro.

Arriving at Faro, take the service bus to the airport to pick up my hire car from Zitauto.

Then drive to Cabanas de Tavira and relax for 10 days.

Everything is booked, fingers crossed for no delays...

Enjoy Karl different world out there we are already booked for next winter as well 😀

Anyone been to Gibraltar with ezy?
Yes - i think i put a review on here at the time. A pleasure, in both directions, and much more convenient for our hotel than Malaga. The only slight faff was that the spanish taxi firm could only collect from the road on the spanish side of the border, meaning a need to walk across an expanse of concrete, various roads and lots of weird kerbs to cross the border on foot. Not exactly an issue, unless you are mobility constrained.

Will soon be flying out from Birmingham to Jeddah on Saudia in December, this will be my third time flying aboard SVA from Birmingham, excited and can’t wait to see how my experience will be this time around.

First time was in December 2023 (19/12) aboard HZ-AR24, and my second time was in December 2024 (17/12) on HZ-ARE. Hopefully a gusty and windy departure 👍

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
