It seems its not just CWL that has seen that gap. For example EXT-ALC and EXT-AGP have the same gap, and other airports too. It seems FR have released their peak summer flights but still plenty more to come in between that.
Faro was released in November of last year for S23 so still time.
That's probably the key point. Stand space must be getting restrictive, as well as terminal space. You can put as many parking spaces and bus bays in as they like, but there'll come a point where they'll need major works to expand the aircraft and terminal capacity. You only have to look at the...
Posted on another forum that it doesn't appear CWL are on the attendee list for Routes Worldwide in Turkey this month. Very disappointing if that is the case.
I'm trying to get my head around May 23 vs May 22 figures mainly surrounding charter numbers. The below comparison is showing several routes with quite large drops in passenger numbers.
Did TUI do a later start to their holiday flights in May? The figures appear to be a shadow of passenger...
Airlines don't just open a route without discussing with the Airport. 99% of the time it's the Airport that's encouraged them to start it up. If CWL didn't want them they would just offer them standard rates. I would imagine T3 have been given a good deal across all 3 airports.
The marketing has...
It's almost like saying Southend Airport serves North England.
Just because CWL is Wales only Airport, does not mean geographically it serves the whole country. If there was a big wall separating Wales and England then people all over Wales would have to use CWL. But there isn't.
Mid/Mid-west...
I always try and look at it with a degree of optimism.
It's definitely struggling and has continued to experience what could be described as "bad luck".
If Covid not happened QR might still have been around.
Had Thomas Cook and Flybe not gone under.
Whether Wizz were on the cusp on opening...
Hopefully QR could see the potential in its growth.
Didn't it only operate for around 18 months? Slow start yes, but maybe it was comparable to other routes QR have that are slow in growing.
There is obviously a big political push for it and its probably about more than just the flight for the...
EI have increase BHD to daily now for Winter. Excellent news!
Hopefully FR aren't having too much of an effect, or even maybe not returning. If EI continue to grow we could start to see double daily on certain peak days.
QR announced in March that it was restarting BHX on July 6th.
Sometimes I get the feeling Airlines like QR and EK are more about utilising their huge fleets and PR on growth than actually making money.
Exactly this. If Ryanair can get decent loads at rubbish times and low prices, they know that if eventually the timings are improved that they will be able to charge more.
When building a schedule at a huge base like Dublin, it's easier to plan a new route at the end of the day to test the...
Never going to happen. If TUI wanted to use Vueling, they would speak to Vueling themselves. There's greater complexities with what TUI offer in terms of packages than just flights.
Vueling just need to operate at decent times to get bookings to increase. Timings have been dire in recent years.
If TUI didn't find the route profitable they wouldn't sell it. PMI has been one of their busiest, if not the busiest route for many years. They often operated 5-7 weekly and on 757 and 767's in the past. That has probably drawn away a lot of people that would book flight only with a low cost...
