    I think as a general rule charter operators tend to charter another aircraft from a third party or have a long delay until the following day for example.

    According to FR24 both MT1706 and MT1707 operated on Sunday although both with delays. I searched both the flight number and the aircraft registration and both are showing as operated. If FR24 is to be believed then the question of what happened to pax is not applicable.
