As somebody who has worked closely with Qatar Airways they will always try and turn stories and use anything in their power to try and get better deals. As we know their loads are low across their network. Sounds like a bit of Michael O’Leary tactics where any news can be spun into advertising.
Well a 3 lane motorway costs around 30M a mile so an area for 3 aircraft must be up at 10M or so when you think of the weight it must take plus all the drainage and electrics.
Let’s not get all negative and over excited about Qatar. First few weeks will alway be low until outbound passengers return and the route builds over the first few months.
TUI were unlikely to position an aircraft every week to fly one route. The cost of this doesn’t make sense like it did 20 years ago. The route is too long for a ‘W’ rotation so the only way it would work would have been by a third party airline. Maybe they were unable to find one. Come the...
It is at Cardiff for fuel tests carried out by Airbus Filton staff. There is a large fuel test facility at Filton but since the closure of the runway at Filton, Cardiff is the nearest and most suitable airfield. Airbus have sent the A320NEO (both engine options) and the A350-1000 to Cardiff over...
I remember a few years back being on an etihad a330-200 with 10 in bussines and 20 in econermy from Abu Dhabi to Male. This was an established route during the high season to the Maldives (January). I can’t understand people judging Doha to Cardiff route on 2 weeks worth of flights.
Computers seem to have a special skill at causing problems at the perfect time. Bit embarrassment for Qatar but these things happen and until it’s pointed out these things won’t be spotted. As for wales air forum comment about egg on face take it this is the moron who is dragging the site down...
This all seems to happen during the peak ski season so maybe there is something to come here. Possibly they want the Qatar hype to die down before they announce anything?
So after today’s press meeting the big news is Qatar Airways want to build a hotel in Cardiff. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/business-news/qatar-airways-reveal-five-star-14606980.amp?__twitter_impression=true
Ah thanks for that. Was looking at the pics of it but it didn’t look right but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Must be the white engines. Still a missive improvement on recent years.
I have no time for the man. Full of his self importantace. A few weeks ago he wrote an artical about how people in the South West and South Wales are getting great deals on trains to London. He went on to say the trains are only £144. He doesn’t live in the real world with the rest of us.
