Virtually the whole of page 9 in today's Yorkshire Post is given over to an interview with John Parkin CEO at LBA. It says absolutely nothing in essence. All the report mentions is that work is about to start on a "premium car park" at the front with a covered walkway
Re: Church Fenton
I understand that the NIMBY lobby is galvanising its opposition already through the well-established and vocal anti-HS2 group in Church Fenton. It's unlikely that either project will materialise any time soon (if ever) so they'd be better employed on their other main focus -...
In the last 3 days BA has gone from rock bottom in my estimation to up there again. On my recent trip from LBA to CPT they lost my bags til the day I returned, and never contacted me once re the issue. Then the return flight was pulled 2 nights running cos of different tech issues and on the 3rd...
I was on Saturday 25/10 at 15.40 with around 70 pax. Transferred at LHR to CPT flight, but sadly my luggage didn't. Currently in Cape Town with BA saying they are "still tracing my bags". Their communication strategy is appalling when anything goes wrong - crashing website, unanswered phone...
Re: Aer Lingus (Stobart Air)
I've given up trying to book a JFK flight with them and have gone back to BA. The website is still not letting you book transfers through Dublin.
Re: Aer Lingus (Stobart Air)
Can someone advise me? Maybe I'm being slow. When I try to book from LBA, which now appears on the drop down list, it only gives me Dublin as a destination option. Is it just me? I was expecting to be able to book a JFK transfer.
Re: Aer Lingus (Stobart Air)
06.50 could potentially be a tight transfer from an overnight transatlantic and then a bit of a wait til 16.25 if you don't make it. But I'm sure someone's thought of that
Re: Aer Lingus (Stobart Air)
Fantastic news. I've travelled to the US many times from LBA using the BA service via LHR. But this is a great alternative especially as they're offering the US clearance in Dublin. Hope it builds business rather than adversely affecting BA though.
My partner is a nervous flier and tries to avoid an LBA landing at all costs. She hates the runway slam down and face in the back of the seat in front. A Manchester landing is far preferable for her, though personally I usually find the M62 or the dire First Transpennine express a more...
I used to use the AirSouthwest route to Newquay quite a bit which had a 30 minute touch down in Bristol. Even with the added half hour it still beat any other form of transport to the South West. It would be great to get a similar link back. The flights always had significant numbers of business...
My son flew out to Barcelona with Jet2 this morning at 07.00. With 15 or so flights going out in the first hour of operation he said security and departures were heaving, and that he was probably the only bloke in there without a Stella in his hand at 6 am. He's coming back with Monarch as...
12.35 BA from LHR had around 100 pax last Thursday, and around half seemed to be picking up long haul baggage. Baggage reclaim was really busy and we had to wait around 20 minutes for ours to come through.
Trip to ORD was my 3rd long haul with BA from LBA and all have worked like a dream.
The 09.35 to LHR on Saturday was full. I noticed at least 3 groups from the LBA flight were also on our flight to Chicago. We only had an hour's transfer time in T5 but the checked through luggage from Leeds still appeared on the carousel in Chicago. Great service. Here's hoping the return...
I'm going LBA - ORD a week on Saturday. My last 2 BA flights from LBA (to JFK and DXB) were delayed and we only just made the connection - mainly down to a 40 minute flight and then 45 minutes stacked over LHR. So I'm hoping it'll be 3rd time lucky and the transfer is more relaxed. Thank god we...
Just back from my LBA to Dubai trip with BA. Flew out at 17.10 to LHR on Saturday Feb 15 with 65 pax - this service was delayed by over 90 minutes owing to the stormy weather down south - just made the T5 connection and amazingly so did the luggage.
Came back on the 19.05 from LHR last night...
