I'm doing BA to Dubai in February and then BA to Chicago in April. The Dubai journey is a fair bit longer than doing Emirates from Newcastle which is how we usually do it but we like T5 so no problem to spend an hour or two there.
My trip from LBA to JFK worked like a dream. 15.30 service to LHR last Saturday was pretty full with it being half-term. The connection was tight as we were held almost 30 minutes waiting for a landing slot at LHR. Returning today there were only around 60 pax on the 13.00 from Heathrow.

Going LBA to JFK tomorrow. The bonus was that when I did online check-in for the 15.30 LBA to LHR I was able to select my seats for the JFK leg - ie almost 3 hours before I could have done from LHR so had a good choice of seats.
Agree. This is all well and good for fantasy land but would never happen. Efforts should be concentrated on getting the rail link (which is perfectly viable) and improving the road access, and then in the longer term improving the runway. I have to avoid LBA as my other half is a nervous flier...
