I think you will find the big increase on Belfast City was due to Belfast International being closed for a few days and their flights transferred to city.
LUFC Pete your post regarding the LBIA snow closed Sun 24/3 raises a few more interesting questions. I'm assuming you are employed in some airfield managerial role maybe at another airport and feel that LBIA is not performing up to what you expect.
Your first remark
Can't argue with that, it's...
Figure just been added to CAA Stats.
JAN 2013 123655 Pax. UP +1% Rolling year 2969880 Pax. UP +1.7%
At least we have positive increase, monthly and YOY.
Yes, the figures can take some following. As a general rule individual destinations just list a monthly figure pax only. List by whether it is a schedule or a charter and a percentage increase/decrease on same month the year before. The headline page (which LBA has been missed off again - will...
The figure of 7763 is for the month of January only. NOT from the start of the service in December when there was approx 5500 for that month. So they are considerably better than you are estimating. If you took January figure and multiply it by 12 then it would be 93156. however, I would expect...
It was a private Saudi B720 HZ-KA4 in the mid to early 80s and brought a Saudi Princess in for an operation at a local hospital. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Sheikh-K ... 437d1a16eb
It did operate in and out of the old RW33 before extension.
LUFC Jonno is correct, we did have a B717. We have had a KLM 737-900 on diversion and a Globespan 737-600 operated a sub charter for Astraeus when they were here. You were correct that we never had a Trident actually on the ground, but we did have a Northeast Trident 1E do 2 approaches to RW15...
A300boy you need to take A330-300 off your list as we had an Air Luxor one that operated on behalf of Planet Air. We had one IL-76 which diverted in from EMA one saturday morning. I don't remember the airline though but I believe either the fuel or the freight company were on strike there.
I think they do that when they "bleed hot air" from the engine and divert it into the aircraft de ice system. It may have been a check to see if it was circulating properly. When they do this they lose about 1% of their take off thrust, to keep all the leading edges hot.
I've just checked the Thos Cook website and there appears to be no flights or holidays available to Tenerife in winter by TCX or Jet2 operating for them. First flights are not until May 2013.
I often wonder if it was worthwhile the airport entering discussions with National Express. There is a large number of long distance north-south and vice versa coaches that come down from Newcastle/Sunderland/Darlington/Middlesorough that route Ripon Harrogate into Leeds via the A61 and head off...
