184 is the seating capacity on the PIA A310. It seems ironic that the Ryan Air 737 seats 5 more, and the A310 is a wide body!. It just goes to show how many seats the Business class displaces, and the extra legroom in economy reduce the total.
Re: bmi
I wonder how long they will continue doing BRU from LBA. A one aircraft base is a very expensive option. No other airline does at LBA. (The flybe isn't a base as there are no crews, before anyone says it is).
BMI keep applying for slots at the route conventions for LBA to FRA, MUC, ZRH...
Re: Thomson Summer 2010
They relocate them. As to where I'm not sure, but MAN would be a good guess. There are certainly no "spare" B737-800s sitting around at DSA this winter.
Re: bmi
Well it looks like we have not been affected by the cuts. All reductions, aircraft losses (9 in total) and jobs go from Heathrow. In fact, 2 EMB 145s are to be returned from mainline at LHR to Regional. Could we expect more routes even, allowing for this?.....
Re: bmi
I wonder what effect the news that is being told to all BMI staff, at 1200 today, will hold for LBA.?
It looks pretty dire and most staff are expecting the worst as LH attempt to plug the loss of millions of pounds the company is losing.
My thoughts are that we will probably lose the...
Ryanair, the World’s favourite airline, today (11th Aug) announced it would open its 34th base at Leeds Bradford in March 2010 with two based aircraft and 14 new routes (17 in total) being launched. Ryanair will offer 63 weekly return flights to/from Leeds Bradford in an investment worth over...
Re: Passenger Figures
Certainly must be a worrying time for Peel, and next month they will lose 8 or 9000 Ryanair Dublin pax, down on July last year, as the airline has now pulled the route.
I think that might be because of the increase to Boeing 777 in November, which seats about 316 pax in PIA config. This would stll give 632 seats against 543 with three A310s, so it will still be an increase.
Re: Passenger Figures Update
Yes , some of the reduction equate to the fact that last year 3 or 4 flights a day operated, against only 2 flights a day this year, with the EDI/GLA flights.
Re: bmi
Well they are cutting the route back from the end of the week from three a day to twice daily. Also terminating the Sun EDI and GLA service. Their support for LBA never fails to continually astound me.
Re: bmi
There are few if any vacant early morning slots at LGW or City, so unlikely we'd get a replacement there as the early morning flight holds the key to the success of all the later flights. STN is pointless, as it is nowhere near London. The train from STN to the city probably would cost...
