Interesting ref stands 309/310 coming back…I thought the VCC being built meant these stands were now redundant, but good news, more stands available the better!
There are or were Jet2 and TUI parked on pier C, but only parked up and not in use for flights.
As already stated here by @CCGE29 most of the easyJet aircraft parked at T1 were going to be towed over to T2 stands during today.
Yes, upper airbridge auto leveller function seems to be working...
Having a look at the airport’s website for T2 departures, EasyJet are using a mixture of stands this morning, D1, A1, A5 as some examples. I also notice for gates inside the new pier (C gates) on both the airport’s website and FR24 these gates are not shown. The website just says “go to gate”...
Be interesting to see how many departures there will be via Pier C stands/gates.
Also the east facing stands on pier B are meant to have Ryanair aircraft parked up overnight, unsure though if this is a bussing operation for passengers or if the aircraft’s will be towed over to a T3 stand?
Hi and thanks a lot for the detailed update, it's most welcome to read :)
So my understanding is that once Easyjet transfer over to T2, some of the stands on the east facing side of Pier B will be used by Ryanair via a bussing operation?
On the subject of T3, it's no secret it's in need of...
Yes, I’ve heard stories of this happening more regularly now and unfortunately sounds like it will only get worse! The drop off /pick up charges obviously don’t put people off driving, but we do need better public transportation to and from the airport to decrease the number of drop off’s/pick up’s.
Someone over on the PPRuNe forum has suggested the testing of the A380 failed on Tuesday morning due to the upper airbridge not connecting properly…I hope this isn’t true?!
Considering MAN have been handling the A380 for over ten years now, I fail to see how this could happen on a new stand?!
I vaguely remember you also stating that there was going to be a reconfiguration of stands 55/56? I think it was mentioned a bus shelter like structure was going to be placed along the head of stands towards where stand 57 is now?
Ah right, good stuff.
Can I request they also get rid of stand 41 due to the absurd boarding process and extremely small gate area which is still in the way!
Also, on the same stream I made out two Jet2 A321neo on the south facing stands on pier 2…if I am guessing right on stands 204 & 206? So...
Watching a live steam on you tube just now and it looks like there’s barriers around stand 16/17 in T3…is this for the reconfiguration of the stands and removal of the airbridge on stand 18?
Thanks for the info. Be interesting to see how this pans out and when Emirates do eventually move over to T2.
Which instagram account is it that shows Easy on pier 2?
SPD Travels on X reporting that Emirates’ move over to T2 is delayed due to the testing of the A380 on the capable stands and some of the taxiways are not yet ready.
Shame if it’s true, but that will leave Emirates as the sole customer in T1! So how will that work with regards to the F&B outlets…
