But the NOTAM doesn't show or include the relevant part of taxiway ECHO. It looks as though LIMA where possible will be used for the foreseeable. Its like just about everything with the TP things are not happening when they should or if at all. The whole thing is an utter mess. Any way we will see in due course what happens. I hope it does come on line but as I said don't hold your breath

Given the fact that taxiway has been complete for a few months now and the lighting is installed, I fail to see how it won’t be ready in tandem with the rest of the dual taxiway system?!

The taxiways will look like this after the 27th, and into the new year. This is from the Dec 25 AIRAC.

Note:

No TWY Echo from E1 - E5;
No TWY Delta from D8 - D10.

The dual taxiway system is while off being finished.

Thanks for the info.
I stand corrected then! It was only 2 weeks ago I went past whilst on a flight with easyJet and noticed that section of Echo (between Lima and Delta) was complete from a concrete and lighting perspective.

Nearly there now......dual taxiway will be 'fully operational' in due course!

I recently arrived from LHR on to stand A7.

I have to say the whole thing was a disaster. When we arrived on stand we walked off the airbridge to no bus. The bus eventually arrived and took us to the T2 domestic arrivals door. We were held there for 25 minutes while the security officers arrived to check in the bus.

The whole thing was a farce. I would argue T3 domestic arrivals was far superior.

Good news TAS website has now updated airfield charts for Nov status to include dual taxiway. You can see 'disused' section, which will eventually become Echo link out to runways. It is currently blocked off with red/white barriers on the airfield

It's a post on Facebook but it does give a look at Terminal 2 Check in East

Emirates move confirmed for 18th November by MAG, who also now list Turkish for the 11th but oddly no Etihad on the 12th. EDIT: Etihad now showing 12th November on airport website.

Ryanair departures still showing as T3 again from 19th November so it appears the T1 name will be retired on the 19th.

Which date are SAS due to move?

SPD Travels on X reporting that Emirates’ move over to T2 is delayed due to the testing of the A380 on the capable stands and some of the taxiways are not yet ready.
Shame if it’s true, but that will leave Emirates as the sole customer in T1! So how will that work with regards to the F&B outlets…

Yes I saw that too just as I posted about the Emirates move!

The airport is still showing 18th November which was posted today, so I wonder if they'll either check-in via T2 and bus passengers to T1, bus passengers to a remote stand, or join Ryanair briefly in the rebranded T3 and send passengers through to Pier B via the Escape Lounge instead of through the main lounge. I can't imagine them keeping the main T1 departure lounge past the Ryanair point for one airline only (and supposedly bar staff there have been told that they won't be in area post 18th November).

I guess point 3 could also work if Ryanair are planning to use Pier B at some point, if this is still on the cards.

On a side note, it appears testing is still under way, and saw there was another EasyJet on one of the T2 stands on Insta last night (not sure on the Reg).

Thanks for the info. Be interesting to see how this pans out and when Emirates do eventually move over to T2.

Which instagram account is it that shows Easy on pier 2?

Airport has confirmed the 18th for the Emirates move today so I guess we'll see what happens if it does indeed get pushed back. And the insta account was cam_at_man but it was on a story so it's no longer viewable.

The first easyJet flight from T2 operated yesterday. EZY5917 departed from gate A1 operated by GUZLO.

This morning will see Emirates EK21/22 park on stand 206 for live trials. Pax will be coached to and from T1.

TUI 789 planned to swap places and will park on stand 12.

Thanks for the info.
I’m currently watching Simon Lowe’s stream and can see the A380 on stand in T2, nice to see the testing has begun.

Someone over on the PPRuNe forum has suggested the testing of the A380 failed on Tuesday morning due to the upper airbridge not connecting properly…I hope this isn’t true?!
Considering MAN have been handling the A380 for over ten years now, I fail to see how this could happen on a new stand?!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
