Manchester Airport has evolved into one of the UK’s busiest aviation hubs, handling millions of passengers annually. From its early days as Ringway Airport to its role in global connectivity, how has it adapted to industry challenges and expansion demands?

With future growth plans in place, will Manchester Airport thrive as a major international gateway, or is it facing logistical and capacity hurdles?

Thanks for the link.
A lot of errors in this report though, e.g. 27 million passengers in 2024, BA is a major airline at the airport and the following:

Terminal 1: Main hub for international flights, handling long-haul and full-service carriers.

• Terminal 2: Mixed domestic and international traffic, undergoing major expansion.

Runways:

• Main runway (3,200m): Handles Boeing 747s, Airbus A380s, and other large aircraft.

• Secondary runway (3,050m): Used for short-haul and peak-hour overflow.

I was of the understanding the runways were both 3048m when did one have an extension?

they are 3048m (23R/05L) and 3050m (23L/05R).

however, you can start a takeoff roll from before the threshold on 23L, so the maximum takeoff distance for 23L from entering at tango is 3200m.

but yes either is fine for aircraft of all sizes.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

If you’re tired of takeoffs, you’re tired of life.
49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
