Here’s the little bit of pesky concrete holding things up (aside from the remote stands)Here is the latest NATS Supplement covering Manchester's taxiways:
CONTINUATION OF TRIP REPORT:Travelled through T1 yesterday on Easyjet to Hamburg. When I first arrived at the airport I checked in at the Departures B area. I don’t really see why they had to move easyJet downstairs when they could have just put Ryanair down there since B was vacant until a few months ago.
I then went through security and went through the new CT scanners. Surprisingly a lot slower than the security halls at T2 as it took around 25 mins to get through. I went through lane 9 which had a very good rejection rate of only 13.3%. What confused me at first was how they 4 lanes were labelled 7-10 but I remember them formerly being labelled 15-18. Have the amount of lanes been reduced in Security A from 14 to 6 due to the new scanners being a lot bigger?
Then I travelled through the departures lounge which felt a lot busier then previous times due to Ryanair passengers. Even now i feel that the entrance to T1 departures looks up to date and I feel the only thing they need to do there is add in a couple more shops.
Ryanair passengers were then moved down the passageway to where the lounges are (Via lots of signs and staff) and then presumably onto the T3 departure lounge. This bit of T1 departures however feels more like a maze and very much needs to be done up.
I departed from Pier C gate 26. I recall someone mentioning on here that one of the gates had been refurbished on Pier C however the only notable difference was that the sign for gate 23 had been replaced with the new Black and White style. I left an image of this for reference. From there i had an on time departure to Hamburg. Sure will be interesting to see how immigration and baggage reclaim will be when I arrive back into T1 tommorow!View attachment 32973
Ryanair will still use T3 arrivals.Another thing I noticed was that there were no Ryanair flights in T1. Do Ryanair flights still use T3 baggage reclaim instead of T1?
Turkish Move to T2 for 11th November is now confirmed when booking flights on their website. Etihad and Emirates still showing 17th and 18th November on the departure boards respectively so I would imagine these will be revealed shortly.Further airline moves to T2 in the latest announcement on the airport’s website.
However, Etihad, Turkish and Emirates are missing from that list…

Norse have technically already moved as they don't operate any flights themselves until 7th November![]()
Yes the dual taxiway system is partially in use now. Because it is uncharted and mostly unlit, follow me vehicles are required for every aircraft using it. This is causing significant delays and inbound slot restrictions as inbound flow limits have been applied due to a shortage of drivers to escort aircraft through this section.Watching a live stream on you tube this morning looks like stands 29 & 31 not yet reconfigured?
On another note when observing FR24 it looks like a section of the new dual taxiway is in operation around where stands 65/66 were…

So will the section between Pier B and C be fully operational with lights by end of year? Does this include sections, currently checker boarded off and out to runwayThanks for the info.
Checking the NOTAM’s looks like this is in place until 27th November.

Fingers crossed that it will also include the stretch of Taxiway E alongside Pier B.
Don't hold your breathIt should do as this is a newly constructed taxiway.
Don't hold your breath
But the NOTAM doesn't show or include the relevant part of taxiway ECHO. It looks as though LIMA where possible will be used for the foreseeable. Its like just about everything with the TP things are not happening when they should or if at all. The whole thing is an utter mess. Any way we will see in due course what happens. I hope it does come on line but as I said don't hold your breathIt should do as this is a newly constructed taxiway.
Why shouldn’t it?! This is part of the dual taxiway system and the NOTAM ending on (hopefully) 27th November shows this system will be in place after that date.
