Haven’t seen the BA booked under 100 pax this week at all, so loads have been very impressive especially on the morning rotations!
The 10am Departure is only 30-45mins later than what is used to be a few years ago when we had x3 daily 6/week, so is a massive improvement!
A lot better for pax...
Spoke to members of the TUI LBA based crew back end of last month and they all confirmed they had been given contracts to operate and base from LBA for next summer (2019).
Looks like they may of screwed their own staff over too...
Well interestingly, I’m not sure if anyone was aware, but the Airport Agencies representative who works at the airport (underneath the Swissport brand) has been made redundant last month.
Her team were directly reaponsible for handing out the TUI/Marella Cruises labels, questionnaires and health...
The above post was meant for yesterday (Friday) apologies.:unsure:o_O
The NQY was booked at 88 yesterday as was the DUS, which was booked at 69. - "Tomorrow's" figures still refer to Sunday.
Since the SOU went x2 daily it is regularly 30pax on average both ways. Peak days such as Monday and Friday I’ve seen it full or at least over 40!
You’d be surprised how many cruise pax use this route too you know! I see 3-4 couples every week using it to catch a cruise in Southampton, which is...
Also to point out if it hasn’t been mentioned already, plans are in the initial stage for the Fire Station to move over toward Multiflight side of the airfield, freeing up space on this side of the Ramp.
I know this is slightly off topic to what is being discussed above but last week I noticed their were construction and surveyance workers in the field closest to the roundabout next door to the new Airport Viking Car Park.
I know there were initial plans for a petrol station posted last year or...
Expect an announcement very soon regarding an increase in ‘based’ seats from Leeds for next Summer or sooner...
From Embraer to Boeing if you can catch on... :sneaky::sneaky:
A lot of people use the BA/EI codeshare already but I can only see it being used more and more now.
The added benefit of the earlier departure plus clearing the first part of US immigration in Dublin is a massive plus for passengers!
Am I right I’m thinking that KLM had all the paperwork and...
Think it’s to make up for the lack of early departure and x2 late departures today (Saturday).
Loads were around 60/70 on both!
FlyEarly is a big thing at the minute! If you buy a semi flexible ticket you can pay the difference to fly on the earlier flight, sometimes it’s only £10-£15 for most...
Thanks to all.
I knew about the performance restrictions of the A321 at LBA from previous posts especially braking.
Thanks Lbaspotter! Suppose it will be a TCX aircraft just an A320 for now!
I laughed when I heard this from one spotter but actually don’t know how plausible it is. Apparently TUI wanted to bring a 757 for the summer but the airport said no, as there aren’t enough 757 capable stands alongside Jet2.
I know you can’t park a 757 on 9 & 10 simultaneously but are there...
Similar to the TCX rumour I’ve just queried in that thread, TUI have sent LBA and Swissport for the Planned Operation 2018, that it will be a TUI based aircraft and not Sunwing?
Is this true?
Heard that TCX have cancelled their SmartLynx dry-lease for LBA and on the Planned Operation for Swissport and LBA for next year they’ve been informed it will be an A32B.
Spoken to another friend who’s heard this rumour and he believes they’ll have to restrict the sale of seats due to the A321...
I’m aware over the xmas period and across into January there are some days with 2 or even 1 BA rotation.
Think LbaSpotter or another member posted a brief snippet into the Winter Sch a few posts back in the thread.
As responded to the FlyBe thread;
Eastern have a tech J41 at Leeds at the moment so are currently an aircraft short.
It was yesterday morning on the 10am service, aborted it’s takeoff due to an engine failure. The eastern engineer was overheard saying it’s “f*****”.
They did engine runs later...
