Anyone else remember the day's of them having multiple charters to Jersey on a Saturday afternoon?? Remember going up to the cemetery regularly on sunny, Saturday afternoons with my Dad a lot back in 2002/03/04 and there used to be 2 or 3 within the space of 2 hours.
Loved their old; Dark Navy...
Whilst on my return flight on G-OOBP last night into MAN, got talking to the captain as he seemed to do the same course as me at Loughborough and he was saying that the B738's are "booking-up well" for the Summer...
Just a bit of an update on their base this Summer.
Looks like Jet2 positioned in G-GDFF (B738) into LBA this morning as LS042A from Glasgow.. isn't she the aircraft that's going to be based here this Summer..? - The move could be permanent then..!
Also looks like we could have two Monarch's on-deck up at LBA this afternoon!
Departures:
14:00...
It seems news is breaking from Armavia the former Russian state, that their flag-carrier Armavia Airlines has filed for bankruptcy within the past 24hours.
They had a very promising beginning, since their start of operations in 1996 carrying around 800,000 passengers in 2010 and had a fleet of...
KLM seem to have their variations in loads, more so than other airlines! I remember when they complained they couldn't fill a F70/F100 and now they occasionally get full loads on an E190.. not bad if you ask me!!
Their fares have become a lot more competitive I have found over the past year or so!
A case of easyJet can operate the route more profitable then..??
A shame for Jet2 to see a route go, but it never did fit into their leisure/package model.. hopefully the a/c can be used to open a route that is..!!
Noticed that the LBA website is now featuring an advertisement from BA who are offering flights to LHR from just £55pp/ow for the Bradford City final at Wembley!
Just thought it was worth the mention seeing as Monarch have advertised special flights as well.
The BA flights will just be the...
Yep, It was confirmed yesterday that Monarch would be operating return flights from LBA to Luton on Sunday 24th February.
06:55-07:45 LBA-Luton
22:00-23:00 Luton-LBA
Return flights are from £175/return/pp which I'm sure some people will pay, others not!!
I heard the aircraft could be either...
Thanks Lbaspotter, that will probably be it.. not suspending, but only operating shortly for the TT races..!
A shame really, but if the route isn't making money - or the aircraft can be operated more profitably, then that's business!
easyJet could do a double W leg once a week -...
I've heard that as a result of the Citywing Management change, the LBA-IOM route will no longer operate and will cease in early May/June..
Hope it isn't true but looking back through the thread and noticing the loads, it can't be good news for the airport..!
The airport have been on a roll this Summer in landing [literally] new airlines and new routes!
I think we might see more from easyJet. They have operated Geneva for a few seasons now, and I think we'll start to see more from them, in the form of maybe some other W leg routes. Grenoble is the...
