I've heard that as a result of the Citywing Management change, the LBA-IOM route will no longer operate and will cease in early May/June..

Hope it isn't true but looking back through the thread and noticing the loads, it can't be good news for the airport..!

Well if it does go, could be a good opportunity for Easyjet to expand its operations from LBA. 4 weekly flights with the A319 would suite the route quite well, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat would be good days.

Leeds/Bradford-Isle of Man route had already been suspended by Manx2/City wing. As they operated there last flight on Monday, January 6th. I thought it was only meant to be reinstated for a short 2 week period in late May early June so to the cover the Isle of Man TT races?

Like I've said before on here I wouldn’t expect Easyjet to pick up the route. There is not enough pax in my eyes to make it work for them using A319's. I honestly think the link will be gone for a long while. Well that’s until at least another airline comes along with the right sized aircraft and has the right scheduled to make it work again.

Thanks Lbaspotter, that will probably be it.. not suspending, but only operating shortly for the TT races..!

A shame really, but if the route isn't making money - or the aircraft can be operated more profitably, then that's business!

easyJet could do a double W leg once a week - Stansted-Geneva-Leeds-IOM-Leeds-Geneva-Stansted or whatever they do.. long shot though! I think easyJet only operate that Liverpool-IOM flight to compete with the ferry that is very popular over Merseyside area!

For the past 20 years airlines have struggled to fill planes to IOM from LBA. Not many Yorkshire folk holiday in IOM anymore and there isn't enough business traffic. I would be very surprised if anyone took it for a couple of years.

Might have an old buddy who would give it a go twice a day with a King Air or Navajo. He has done so from Blackpool before. I will be meeting him in May to discuss it with him.

If he does I'm presuming he going to be operating it like an air taxi service?

No he operated scheduled flights under an umbrella Aoc to start with and applied for his own licence which is normally where the problems begin.

City Wing (aka Manx2) restarted THE Isle of Man - Leeds service today using Links Air, BAe Jetstream 31, G-LNKS on this evenings LNQ036L/037L. The flights and will operate for the duration of the Isle of Man TT races which are currently been held on the island....

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
