Strike called off. From the BBC yesterday. Glad the staff got a deal that was acceptable to them. A strike when the airport is trying to rebuild confidence and routes would have been very damaging, but so many people are being hit hard...
How much of that photo has changed. Given what Eurohub is now locating in further to the south east would work. At the time, of course, it was a true hub of a true hub and spoke airport and I suppose, proximity was everything.
Great photo that reminds us how barren the whole area was at that time.
I agree do not bother withbthe blogger. Plenty of videos out there that have a go at every city in the UK at some time.
Great news about the tourism boost.
Couple of Viscounts on the ground and the smoke (!) from a 1-11 seen five miles out! Them were the days when we were mere lads riding around on our Choppers.
Great photo, thanks for sharing, Sir Ray, and I hope you had a good trip.
Just taken off. Good timing and Good luck to the Villa. From a bluenose. No silly rivalry from me....unless we play you and thrash you into oblivion. as if ...
Did Primera ever fly to the states in their A321? Such a bad memory for us all, the details all but erased.

Shame that we are losing Billund, Gdansk, Bordeaux and Vilnius for more of the same in Spain.
We seem to be incapable of holding onto interesting routes that make the city itself seem like a place worth visiting. This shows that we are heading towards being a boring airport for those seeking...
The BBC are running are looking for photos on the theme of aviation for their news website. This week the theme was waterfalls and details of how to submit anything to do with aviation are at the end of this article. Of course stylish photos are in order not just at an airport but I have seen on...
I think the smoke is still hanging around. Loved those times. Aircraft let you know of their presence. Oh how I miss the long drawn out drone of the DC3 and the dirty roar of a BAC1-11.
They will have to snuggle up close together.
I almost gave up hope for BHX during covid and thought that the good times had passed. I was so wrong.
Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair and Tui all with a decent base. Nice to have some national carriers and the good news on easyjet is city to city...
