I dont know where AI gets it information from tbh
My understand is 1 extra EZY in 2026 and 1 extra in 2027
BHX pushing for more W patterns at quieter times to achive better stand utilisation etc
Co-pilot says
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s already lined up for Birmingham Airport in 2026—and it’s looking like a busy year for new routes and expanded services ✈️:
🧡 easyJet Expansion
New aircraft: Two additional Airbus A320s joining the Birmingham base
New routes: Gran Canaria, Malta...
Outbounds loads will drop off now as the Summer Kids hols are almost over, this would be the case not just at BHX but elsewhere too.
Inbound loads again hardly an empty seat as you would expectr.
I think BHX has done really well turn what was close to a disaster last Summer (which wasnt enirely their fault) into a much slicker operation this Summer especially with rising pax numbers.
BHX is coping very well with 50k pax passing through the airport on most days.
So much better than S24
The bad press in S24 has made some travellers look elsewhere in my opinion, but very positive comments about BHX this year so hopefully passenger confidence is being restored quickly.
Aer Lingus UK have publicly said they have no plans to open anymore UK bases.
I still think (my opinion) that if the pax cap at Dublin gets raised they will move back to Dublin and end the UK part.
All gone very quiet despite having a start date, times, flight numbers etc
Down 8% on July 2024, nothing to do with load factor !
I would be happy with that or 3 x A359's
Expect August LF's to be around EK 95%, QR 98%, AI 86%, SV 74%
I predict the 14m rolling year should be passed in March 2026 (hopefully)
We then need a big push to get this up to 15m and then BHX becomes a 'large airport' in the Routes world.
