I believe as of the end of July BHX were around 13,390,000 pax, though will have to wait till next month CAA stats for the to be confirmed…

66% on Dubai is crap. Hopefully they don’t pull back at BHX .

It really isn't....

June is still quiet for the MEB3. The school holidays are yet to start in the UK and June is not the weather you want to visit DXB itself. The last 3 years have varied between 40-42k at BHX. This year was lowest but that's every UK route EK operates to the UK has seen falls compared to June 2024:

LHR: -7%
LGW: -0%
MAN: -7%
STN: -8%
BHX: -4%
NCL: -3%
GLA: -8%

In fact dare I say, BHX fared pretty damn well compared. If they consider pulling back at BHX in that regard, a lot of other UK airports should be worried...

Why not just show the load factors for each airport though? -8% on what? Spinning everything as positive is not helpful. This forum might as well be called “Birmingham Airport Press Office” if everything is sunshine and rainbows like you portray it as

We need a bigger premium offering to attract pax away from the bigger airports

Down 8% on July 2024, nothing to do with load factor !

Stupid question alert from me.Why can’t we just go with 3x daily B77W.Sell easier plus more choice of options to connect to the rest of the world
I would be happy with that or 3 x A359's

Expect August LF's to be around EK 95%, QR 98%, AI 86%, SV 74%

The question I ask is do we need the A380.My answer would be no because of demand and especially after Covid.I remember pre COVID we had 2 daily A380s but it’s good to see it every once a day however it does carry the old 3rd daily passengers and lunchtime passengers if you understand where I am coming from.

Even a B77W X2 1 A350 would suit it like you agreed with me just

Because a) the CAA stats dont show the Load Factors and b) given the different configs of different EK aircraft on different routes across the UK, i dont know what the load factors would be. I'm just quoting the stats put infront of us and comparing them against other airports... im not here to say everything is rainbows, but you and your previous posts seem intent on posting everything as thunderstorms...

If you want to post the Load Factors for each airport, please feel free to do so, id be interested to see what they are!

I'm not sure sure how that works.... Replacing 50 economy seats with 8 first class seats is not going to attract pax, in fact its going to reduced pax capacity! Yes the airline yields maybe up but it isnt going to increase pax capacity... not unless you add an additional flight....

Noooooo A359s have 321 Seats. 3x daily would be 1,872 seats daily. Our current 77W (421 seats) and 388 (615 seats) provides 2,072 seats a day... i do hope that in the near future we will have one of each on the route but tie will tell...

I didn't work these out cause of this post, but EDI was 87.32% on an A350 and GLA was 84.92% on a 3 class A380
Useful to see... thank you!

Here is my take on the CAA data for June:

To think that MAD and BER were unserved from BHX for years and seems so had to attract back...

Now Madrid carrying nearly 8,000 Pax (+140%) in June - Thanks Ryanair
Now Berlin carrying over 10,000 Pax (+32%) in June - Thanks Easyjet

Also good to see JED up 47% with no real increase in capacity, just improving Load Factors....

Thanks Ryanair too on Berlin :)

As we get to the last day of August, its worth noting that while we will have to wait a few weeks or months for the final figures....

August will have been the Busiest Month on Record at BHX with over 1.5 Million Pax - the first time this milestone has been passed in a month at the airport.

August will also have seen the Busiest Day in its history, which i believe will have topped 53,500 Pax in a single day. That's almost the equivalent of 88x full A380 in a single day for some context.

Yes things have been far from perfect. The airport in parts is still a building site, other parts of the terminal require investment, and we had to deal with an emergency landing which closed the airport for nearly half a day... but, its been a record breaking month for many great reasons.

Lets hope this growth continue and the airport continue to invest in supporting this growth. Another summer season drawing to a close. Lets see what Winter 25/26 has in store!

The biggest thing for me is the improvement over last year.

Definitely far from perfect but works are still ongoing so I'll be very interested to see how things are in S26.

I think the airport have done all they can with the current site so looking forward to the amended master plan next year, hopefully some expansion will be sooner rather than later.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
