Well I was 16 pax out !

August will see BHX busiest ever month estimated to be over 1.53m

Ian
Oh, Ian. Tur tut. Come on: 16 out? We rely on 100% accuracy on here, not wild speculation, mate.

Seriously, congratulations on the accuracy of your figures. Not sure how you do it, but you must have one heck of a spreadsheet. I always look forward to your posts. Thank you for what you bring.

About 20,000 pax lost yesterday

But as a result today should be BHX's busiest day in history

Great to see... Yes we will have lost a decent number of pax following Wednesdays unexpected events, but great to see we had a record busiest day ever on Thursday? Just short of 53,000 pax I believe?

Question is, well that record last long? and will August be the busiest month ever?

I assume 90% of all traffic currently flying on Emirates, Qatar and Saudia are connecting on to onward destinations. Indeed, this is not the time of year to go on holiday to that part of the world!

Lucky Turkish pax going on an A330, nice solid load too. I’ve only been on their 737-800 and -900ER from Birmingham in 2017 and 2018.

Unfortunately not so much for passengers who missed their connections on Wednesday and early Thursday morning.
I can tell you from experience that Turkish Airlines aren't all that...A330 or not. Particularly average in economy and business so you're not missing much 😕

i have no experience on Turkish but was always under the impression their business class was pretty good, especially compared to most European business class product. Definitely one if been wanting to try!

I'd save your money Neil....yes the seats are better and more spacious in J, but the crew are consistently dead behind the eyes. Time and again it's the crew that let the flight down and the food is very 'turkish'. Now I lived there for over ten years so I don't mind the food, but got sick to the back teeth with the same old crud in both classes. I put my money with the middle East carriers and a few others now. I booked a Thai Airways flight this morning....I've heard they're ok in all classes 🤔

Found Saudia crew to be a lot more welcoming and kind on my BHX flights compared to Turkish crew I’ll be honest, but I digress. It’s nice to see big load factors on each and every airline that Ben has mentioned 👍

The blip should only result in a 1 to 1.5% reduction for the month and not significantly affect final analysis

The only true way to record data is in % terms but good to see BHX's actual pax number growth is above all the major airports

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
