I wonder if any of the proposers of opening DSA have any thoughts on what routes MAN is targeting as noted in the Telegraph today (and as outlined in the MAN thread by me). It renders useless any argument that DSA is needed to connect "the North" to the world.
we've not had one of these for a while so here's the wishlist the airport has revealed to the Telegraph https://www.msn.com/en-gb/travel/news/manchester-airport-races-to-challenge-gatwick/ar-AA1HPKoc?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=7a4d16b300f5477799c9d3381f736847&ei=9

the former Premier League referee Uriah Rennie, the 1st black referee in the League and the only one there was for 15 years,
He always looked supremely fit and had a presence that caused respect (his black belt in a martial art may also have helped!) Latterly paralysed due to a medical...
Now that we have a launch date and destination, it seems appropriate to have a thread for them
A reminder of the announcement using Norse 787

Seems like BHX will gain a weekly Norse charter https://newsweb.oslobors.no/message/647248
"Between November '25 and March '26 Norse Atlantic will offer seamless, direct flights to Barbados and Antigua, taking guests to Arvia or Britannia for 14-night Caribbean holidays. The dedicated charter...
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
The other thing to point out about Global is despite attracting a disproportionate amount of noise in the media. they only had 95 passengers on board. for a charter flight. A number of whom are social media "influencers" i.e. parasites after free stuff and others bona fide journalists. I...
We get a 4 class A380 from 1st June on EK17/18, - it's the introduction of premium economy

An easier way for airlines to react to these unusual circumstances would be to do what LH and EK did is i.e. upgrading existing routes to the likes of BRS, MAN and BHX as they would in theory have the "LHR" aircraft doing nothing as those routes tend to use larger aircraft e.g., Finnair using...
This seems to be an Emirates thing in expanding services in the UK:
start route: lunchtime service
add 2nd frequency: evening service
add 3rd frequency: morning service
(any 4th frequency would be shadowing the lunchtime service)
they seem to treat Glasgow & Edinburgh as single market...
interesting to see that one of the BA 777s departed as "BA1403" though it didn't use the shuttle callsign. I wonder if actually did have MAN-LHR passengers or wouldn't they allow a mix of passengers from the diverted flight plus "new" passengers. to be on board.
another piece on where connections on simple flying, this time discussing the top 10 A380 routes.
MAN is equal 4th with the 3 A380s per day. But the stats of interest from the 1.08 million on the route....
"Obviously, the majority of passengers—approximately 72%—continued elsewhere. Booking...
Simple flying states booking data shows MAN-India is around 390,000 passengers a year with BHX-India being 210,000 passengers a year with MAN-DEL being 50% bigger than BHX-DEL with yield being what the call "marginally" better at BHX. Even allowing for surface transport leakage, it does not...
more blurb on Indigo with this bit of interesting newshttps://aviationweek.com/air-transport/airports-networks/indigo-launch-amsterdam-manchester-routes
"Figures provided by Sabre Market Intelligence show that O&D traffic between Manchester and India totalled more than 300,000 two-way...
