You say that but TOM have added Jamaica to 2019 along with DOM,CUN and SFB. Not sure if the Jamaica route is weekly yet, but TOM must feel that BRS has good demand for the Caribbean.
Yes you can get headwinds flying eastbound but the majority of the journey will have a tailwind increasing the range, for the return westbound, more than likely they would fly from a longer runway therefor carrying more fuel.
I think it's more likely we will see TCX oprtate BRS-MCO before they will start CWL-CUN. As I have said in previous post we don't see people comment when the JSI-BRS had to do a fuel stop and that's sold as "Direct" but planned to stop.

Fuel not part of the payload. If payload was restricted then bags and or passengers would be offloaded from the flight. TOM clearly see that if they did that it would have a greater negative effect and a fuel stop makes more commercial Sence.

Here we go again! It has nothing to do with payload restrictions. The Atlantic has strong headwinds this time of year, couple that with the bad weather around the Gulf of Mexico it's no surprise they are doing tech stops. Not sure if anyone noticed the SFB-BRS last week did it in around 6h40...

It's not really it's only had 2 tech stops and 1 crew stop due to sickness. Yesterday was due to the air pressure in Bristol, if your a pilot you'd understand the effect it can have on aircraft.
As the odds stand, you have more chance going direct to CUN. We don't see people saying the TCX...
Correct, the original Captain fell ill in the morning so the quickest option was to go Via MAN to pick up a replacement. The flight was originally planned to operate direct to CUN.
A family member was on the flight and they said the captain made an announcement stating the above.
Even when the CUN/SFB originally operated on the 767 it used to have a 4 week break, so it's nothing new.
As said the Scottish school holiday start before England's, you will see TCX operating W patterns from GLA then ferrying back to home bases.
Goa is only 50 miles more as the crow flys, also there will be more af a tail wind flying from BRS-GOA so shouldn't be much of an issue, now Phuket is around 1500 miles further so I would say no to direct on that one.
But you never know what's going to happen at BRS in the future, if the runway...
Depending on the season the TOM 757 flights from BVA often divert for fuel on the return due to the short runway in BVA.
