I have just been looking at the jobs page on the BRS website, and I noticed positions for JD sports and Monsoon. So that's part of the puzzle of new shops goin in.
Your not the only one, there is a lot of talk from the staff at the airport boycotting the coffee shops and Burger King etc due to the reduction of discount.
Joint announcement by BMI and the airport due today.
DUS, CDG and NTE are showing as book able on the BMI site.
CDG will be interesting to see as it will be twice daily and up against EZY.
The airfield map shows the areas of the taxiways they are going to widen and also the turning circles to allow the 787 to operate into BRS.
The arrivals hall/ immigration is currently/ has had a makeover allowing for more pax, they also have the immigration hall that was added when the western...
Like TLY I've not heard a thing being said about Etihad, but I see no reason in that they do have a large fleet of A332. And with BRS being a non Cargo station that gives them a little more room for take off weight.
In regards to distance/ length of flight, the A332 isn't to far off the 763...

It looks like BMI will be getting some extra aircraft with 2 being parted out for spares.
Both airlines have different minima's with EZY being lower than FR, also as said by TLY the Airbus is better performing in Lower Vis than the Boeing. Another factor could be the aircraft has temporally been down graded to CAT 2 or even CAT1 due to technical reasons.
The lights on the spiral and the flags were installed for the NATO summit. And appeared a few days before it took place. I like the lights on the spiral, they also change colour every few minutes.
Rumour has it that BMI will be adding 3 more based aircraft next year, it does tie in with the recent recruitment of both flight and cabin crew also the additional ABZ and FRA.
EZY UI has been at BRS for about 3 weeks, a few refer to it as the giant Tic Tac, personally I love it but could do with sharklets. It would be nice to see the 300th done in a metallic orange.
It's in the old terminal, In what used to be the waiting area. They have redesigned the old checkin area adding a hot food outlet along with booths, tables and vending area. It is mailny for staff use but if your quick you may be able to see it before it's closed off to the public behind swipe...
