Maquarie won't have any direct say in " extra aircraft " at BHX. That is ultimately up to the airlines. Hopefully though, we will grow with their assistance.
So in view of the announcement last month ( see the above entry on 19th May), it's a small increase, but less than the proposed 47 for S25.
Any increase is welcome.
In the BHX case, Maquarie are looking to take the OTPP ( Ontario Teachers Pension Plan) stake, which is 27% in Birmingham's case.
Let's hope they can inject some badly needed finances, In light of Birmingham City Council's bankruptcy.
I've been hearing of horrible goings on at Blue Islands recently. BHX bound aircraft diverted to EMA at short notice. Disabled passengers left stranded for lengthy periods at EMA, and long waits for coach transfer back to BHX. Not good.
