Yes, the route should work better now tourism and ethnic traffic is supported. Will it be A320? 330 was announced and got me very excited!

Would work well but haven't we been here before? Tunisair 'announced' the route and never followed through

Completely agree with you, regarding Shanghai. Might as well put that aside for now, even though the market is obvious. For Hainan, I think we just have to wait and see. They are announcing new routes for winter 2017 very quickly, including some European routes out of Guangzhou. They seem to...

    American Airlines

Had a quick look at tomorrow's AA flights: -2 seats available in economy (JFK) -5 seats available in business (JFK) -2 seats available in economy (PHL) -3 seats available in business (PHL) The seat maps aren't available for the Chicago flights.

Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Seems to be situation going on at Manchester at the moment. Many arrivals on hold, BA from LHR turning back to LHR, with Jet2 and Enter Air rejected takeoff.

Very true. I think the price war at Gatwick is even more fierce than at Manchester and is forcing down yields.

BA aren't doing too well on LGW-JFK from what I've heard. May cut back to seasonal.

    Infrastructure, Developments and Construction

I completely agree with this and it is certainly a major factor on flights to Boston, JFK and Hartford (I don't think MAN would even be able to support a flight to Windsor Locks), however, Aer Lingus has grown at an astonishingly fast pace in the transatlantic market since Dublin has had USBPC...

    United Airlines

United are withdrawing their 757s eventually but I believe Jerry is correct. United are replicating premium 757s for their expanding 'Coast' services for US Transcon flights against JetBlue and AA. They cut the weakest routes before (BFS, NCL and IAD-MAN) to reallocate 757s and now BHX...

    Hainan Airlines

I notice Hainan have opened reservation today for new routes, beginning 26th October, from CTU and CKG to New York JFK. Do we know when an announcement is expected for CAN-MAN?

It will be interesting to see the July statistics as I think User alluded to them, at least anecdotally, being high. Let's see if the SQ trend continues...

Yes, print at home if you check-in online. That way you'll avoid extra fees. Enjoy!

    Manchester Airport - General Thread

The 'Skyteam' terminal as such would be classed as Terminal 2, so maybe KLM/Air France would be better moving over there. The long term aspiration has to be having Flybe and Virgin under one roof but I can't imagine Flybe using Terminal 2. Perhaps an airside connections passage needs to join T3...

    Singapore Airlines

Well, if we could get SIN to an average of 170 per flight and IAH to an average of 150 that would be great. At the moment, the average load since December for MAN/IAH is 102. The average load since December for MAN/SIN is 156.
