The short lived ray of hope has not lasted long...
JFK arriving nearly three hours late, and operating with a 752.
ORD arriving one hour and a half late.

It may only be a B752 on the JFK but still showing 14 seats available. That's the same , or very similar to the PHL and ORD with larger a/c. Both those look very healthy in J & Econ.

Don't know the reason for the delay on JFK, but if not already allocated the 752, at least they found another a/c and crew this time.

Today's performance:

AA JFK - arrived 0649, half an hour ahead of schedule, 767-300, OneWorld livery
AA PHL - estimated 0840, 10mins ahead of schedule, A330-200
AA ORD - estimated 0900, on schedule, 767-300

Pretty good. Will they leave on time?!

The answer is yes.

AA JFK - left 5 mins after pushback time!
AA PHL - left 25mins after pushback time - arriving on schedule.
AA ORD - left 20mins after pushback time - arriving on schedule.

A good day!

Best thing MAN can do is work its way up the AA food chain.

If MAN is financially more valuable to AA than other European destinations, it will be much less likely to be the first cut on a bad day.

"Shove 'em down to London "

Seems to be the biggest mindset to breakdown!

If Heathrow wasn't an hour down the road would they be so inefficient?

One of the AA B767's was followed by fire engines to a remote stand on landing, so, I'm guessing one of the flights back out to the USA will be cancelled......

The AA had heavy smoke from one under carriage leg on landing. He was unaware so presumably no reading in the cockpit.
Tower advised he held position whilst the fire crew had a nosey.

An interesting perspective on AAs plans for PHL and JFK.

I expect there will always be enough O&D to sustain at least a seasonal JFK service, but it does make you think if TCX and VS continue to pile on the pressure.

There is also the BA element to consider. I think MAN-JFK is probably the most lucrative TATL route outside of LHR (unsure on LGW?) but I cannot imagine their JV withdrawing from this marketplace altogether.

Very true. I think the price war at Gatwick is even more fierce than at Manchester and is forcing down yields.

Well LGW is Norwegians chief U.K. (And probably European) battleground - imagine what would happen at MAN if they started offering the prices they offer at LGW...

BA probably hope (with some justification) that they just need to hang in there until the next downturn, which they probably expect will finish Norwegian off in its current form.

Interesting this morning as today's ORD departure not showing on web site. Not another cancellation I thought.
No, flight arrived 20 minutes early and is operating according to MAN departures which suggests it's full or over booked. Only 9 seats available on PHL and 14 on JFK, mostly in Business which is not surprising for a Wednesday.

This is quietly encouraging. We know TATL flying took a bit of a hit and this is reflected in this winters programme.

Not out of the woods yet, but news such as summer loads, TCX expansion, AA using the B788 and VS keeping faith with BOS and SFO it is not a million miles away from what we want to see.

Had a quick look at tomorrow's AA flights:

-2 seats available in economy (JFK)
-5 seats available in business (JFK)

-2 seats available in economy (PHL)
-3 seats available in business (PHL)

The seat maps aren't available for the Chicago flights.

Tonight's ORD-MAN is only about 65% full, but putting a return date for tomorrow's MAN-ORD shows 19 available in J and only 5 in Economy.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
