Safe travels. I was pricing up a trip to Cape Town earlier and Ethiopian were the cheapest, so I’d be interested to hear your views on them.

I was lucky enough.to fly business class but I can honestly say the best long haul flight i had. Food , comfort and service in particular top notch. Addis was easy to transfer. Flight was very light from MAN, in fact only me and my partner in business so had whole cabin to ourselves. Was busy from Brussels.

Sounds great, delighted all went well

Ethiopian Airlines S20 European aircraft changes as of 10FEB20
Posted 11 February 2020 09:00
Ethiopian Airlines this week filed aircraft changes for selected European service, for summer 2020 season. Planned adjustment as follows.

Addis Ababa – Brussels – Manchester eff 28MAR20 787-9 operates 4 weekly, instead of 3 weekly -8 and 1 weekly -9
Addis Ababa – Brussels – Dublin eff 29MAR20 787-9 operates 3 weekly, instead of 2 weekly 787-8 and 1 weekly 777-200LR

Ethiopian Airlines (ET)Change to direct ADD rather than via BRU from 02Jul, also upgrade from B787-8 (270 seats) to B787-9 (311 seats), days of operation also change from days 2, 4,5 & 7 to days 1,2,4,6. Apr-Jun ops 0625/1755z but from 02Jul ops 0505/1900z meaning 14hrs on the ground.

Ethiopian put a message on Facebook earlier today stating that they will return to MAN on July 2nd with 789s 4x weekly. Doesn’t mention if the original plan to operate direct from Addis from that date still applies. As an aside, they have had a new 789 (ET-AXS) delivered since they paused our service.

Thanks @Curious Pax for the heads up.

I've just checked the Ethiopian website and they confirm the flight operates non-stop in both directions. Days of operation are Thursday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

The service in July now operates via Brussels, however effective 1st August the Ethiopian website shows the service as being non-stop on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Whilst checking my records I noticed that Ethiopian has not operated into Manchester since 9th July. I had a word with a contact who advised that it would appear that currently the next planned date for operations is 2nd August, however this may well be pushed back to a later date.

More info when I know.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
