6E33 has been severely delayed every day this week
Makes sense, surely with how much it’ll cost them in compensation (and lost bookings but difficult to quantify) they’ll consider scaling back and not running before they walk?
If/when these start, me and my friend intend on coming down from West Yorkshire to fly direct (for tourism), which I can’t imagine many others will be doing given how unfriendly the visa process is for tourists. With better visa rules/bigger diaspora the route would be a success, but I can’t see...
I’ll also be heading to Toronto next year (I’ll be coming down from West Yorkshire to fly from CWL). Triple win for me, New UK airport flown from - New Country - Can visit my family in Canada. Well done to all involved with getting the route
With the amount of slots held for Irish routes, they are clearly Ryanair routes and therefore I think it’s likely they’re trying to disguise their intentions on which routes they plan on opening. I for one really hope there will be a Milan route there, as that will save me the trek to MAN/STN 3...
Yes it’s for LBA (I wouldn’t have posted it otherwise), as far as I know it’s slots that have been applied for for S26, although this is not 100% accurate for what will be served it is a decent enough indicator
My first time looking at these reports ever so please correct me if I am wrong, but could this be the Ryanair expansion (or at least some Ryanair and some other airlines) that we’ve been hoping for? Many of these routes have been on a lot of wishlist so I hope it is all true.
JED would cover religious pilgrimages, future tourism along the Red Sea, as well as the obvious connections they provide. I personally don’t think it’s a question as to whether the airport can support it, and more if Saudia wants to make the first move into LBA
Volotea not doing the UK much isn’t the biggest hurdle imo. If they want to test the UK waters then they may as well do it where there is less competition, strong incentives to do so (this is a complete assumption on my part please correct me if I’m wrong) as well as strong potential to expand
In many ways, CWL being a smaller airport could help Volotea, and vice versa, as there will be less competition so they can establish better, they can dip their toe properly into the UK market, and I’d imagine there would be fairly attractive incentives from the airport to attract them, and they...
He did but IIRC it was regarding regional Italian airports removing tax/charges so he was going to reward them with more flights. It’s a nice idea but I think it’s very unlikely that we’ll get any Italy routes other than Venice, Milan or Rome from FR in the near future
I think both OSL and CPH are realistic routes that would benefit LBA, and anecdotally I myself have been across the Pennines twice in the past month to fly to either of these places that I would’ve sooner gone from LBA to
