Which route would be for the chop to fit the Egypt flight in? I wonder if it's more sensible for the first winter to maybe only load Egypt from Manchester, Gatwick, Birmingham which are their biggest base. Gage the level of interest then if required put on the flights in Summer 2019 from other...

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

Based on the layout of the airport on-time performance will likely decrease however as the criteria is within 15 minutes of scheduled departure time then it may not make that much of a difference. Aircraft on Stands 1 & 3 cannot push at the same time. Nothing on stand 12-17 can push at the...

Addendum The KLM later returned to Cardiff with passengers after an uplift of fuel in Exeter. Royal Air Force Hercules C.4 ZH870 and Bombardier Challenger 850 diverted to Cardiff

There are a lot of assumptions here however would it be cheaper in the longer term for Summer 2017 to base the aircraft at Cardiff and having Q400 pilots (LCY approved) at Cardiff. The cost of overnighting 8 crew in the hotel and associated transportation costs for this would no doubt impact...

The mystery of the gap filler between the London City flights seemed to have been resolved. The aircraft will operate the Belfast City flights instead of it being the Belfast City based aircraft (Monday - Friday) Monday - Friday Cardiff 11:50 Belfast City 13:05 Belfast City 14:10 Cardiff 15:25...

I would like to point one thing to the above. Cardiff Airport will be heavily slot restrained around the Champions League Final in Cardiff and in exception to the normal day to day scheduled services all additional flight pairs will be at a first come first serve basis. There is a potential...

They did use Runway 27 for arrivals but seem that even that wasn't good enough. The Thomson B738 gave it a go seems as if the RVR increased just in time and when the last of the diverted went to make an approach it decreased again so diverted to Cardiff. Once all aircraft that were in the...

Unfortunately arrived too late to catch the KLM departure. The Stobart Air positioned out to Dublin empty and KLM continued on to Bristol once weather improved after a spot of fuel.

It would make it three in total. The travelodge isn't too far away but they don't provide shuttle service to the airport. I wonder if this hotel will?

Just to clarify the system still shows Palma, Barcelona and Malaga at 4 x weekly same as this year but oddity seems Alicante where for two weeks show 5 x weekly in April only. Barcelona was previously displaying 5 x weekly for S2017 but that changed back to 4 x weekly now.

For some reason there is no Thomson Cruises packages from Cardiff to Montego Bay this year so unsure if there ship was re-located. I was under the impression that the Dubai based cruis ship was a new addition to the fleet. The longhaul cruise market from Cardiff Airport will be the busiest fir...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

As far as I'm aware it has been resolved however the next issue is how Brexit impacts the project. I'm sure I heard they were hoping that it was signed off before we left so we still had the EU money. I don't know if it was scaremongering but talks were that if we left EU then couldn't afford...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

The last time I knew you had to pay for that last but separately as it is run by the VofG rather than being an official rail bus on behalf of ATW. £1 each way or £1.50 for return.

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

The under investment of the Valley Lines over years are now starting to show. Many lines cannot accommodate over two trains per hour as they are single lines with passing places. The idea of the metro is good only if you can purchase one ticket that allows you to transfer between various...

To my knowledge the 905 only extends to MoD St Athan at certain times of the day. Unfortunately to the life of me can't remember those times. There is also a Llantwit Major to Barry bus that runs via Rhoose. As this is a local service no doubt if required it could pick-up/drop-off near the...
