We have received further praise for our handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, after Jet2holidays was named ‘Best Short-Haul Operator’ at The Sun Travel Awards 2020.

Voted for by thousands of readers, The Sun annual travel awards revealed the most-loved holiday destinations, best airlines and travel companies, with us beating competition to be named the overall winner of the ‘Best Short-Haul Operator’ category. The Sun wrote: “Taking the top spot this year, just one of many operators having to deal with last-minute travel restrictions and quarantines, is Jet2.”

This latest recognition comes just a week after we were rewarded with ‘Best Large Tour Operator’ by the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA), and named a World Travel Leader for our positive response to the pandemic at the annual World Travel Leaders Awards, as part of London Travel Week 2020.

At the SPAA Awards, the president Joanne Dooey recognised us for our “excellent communication throughout the past six months, which has greatly helped members. Whether switching destinations, adding capacity to destinations with a travel corridor, or helping with amendments and refunds, this company was the easiest to deal with.”

According to the judges at the World Travel Leader Awards, the accolade was driven by our “positive approach to refunds and cancellations.”

Our customer-first strategy throughout the Coronavirus pandemic has seen us continue to win praise from customers, consumer organisations, media, and independent travel agents for how we have looked after customers during the pandemic. This includes us ranking as the number two travel firm for providing refunds, according to a travel refund cancellation survey of more than 77,000 people by MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE).

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Looking after customers is at the heart of everything we do, and we are delighted to have once again received recognition for this, particularly after what has been a challenging time for the industry. In addition to looking after customers when times are good, it is important that customers and independent travel agents receive the same level of service when things are difficult. We are very proud to have done that and would like to thank all the readers who voted for us.”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
