easyJet, Bristol’s largest airline, has today announced that it will add an additional aircraft to its Bristol base, bringing the fleet to 17 aircraft for next summer, as part of its focus on profitable growth opportunities.

An additional A320 aircraft will be based at Bristol Airport for next summer enabling easyJet to serve 176,00 passengers travelling to and from the UK.

This follows the airline’s recent announcements of expansion in Barcelona as well as the seasonal bases of Faro, Malaga and Palma, which will all be receiving additional aircraft for the summer 2022 season.

Over 300,000 flights are now set to take place across easyJet’s network between 1 April and 30 September 2022, providing over 54 million seats for passengers to head off on a spring break, take a long awaited family holiday or explore more of Europe this summer. 29 million of these seats are operating to and from the UK.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager of easyJet, said:

“With the recovery now firmly underway, we are ready and able to seize opportunities where they arise. As the largest airline at Bristol Airport with our unrivalled short haul network, the region remains strategically important for us and given the slower removal of restrictions in the UK this summer compared to Europe, there is even more to go for as demand rebounds next summer.

“easyJet will continue to take decisive action to capture additional opportunities alongside our planned organic growth. This additional aircraft will enable us to further grow our frequencies and destinations to ensure we continue to offer the greatest choice and best value in the South West for leisure and business customers alike.”

Dave Lees, CEO, Bristol Airport said:

“We are delighted easyJet has selected Bristol Airport to base an additional A320 aircraft from summer 2022. The additional aircraft demonstrates the long-term collaboration and joint growth strategy between easyJet and Bristol Airport. For customers in the South West it offers additional destinations and continues to increase the choice and flexibility of flights available to customers in the region selecting to fly from their local airport. This decision continues to show customer confidence is returning to pre-pandemic levels, as airlines continue to meet pent-up demand.”

Seats are available at easyJet.com giving customers more choice to book early and make huge savings on flights to 74 destinations across the airline’s Bristol network, spanning Europe and North Africa. Even more low fares for next summer are now available from Bristol to Barcelona from £29.99*, Prague from £29.99* and Nice from £33.99*.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
