Birmingham announces Sir Hugh Robertson as Chairman

The Board of Birmingham Airport (BHX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Hugh Robertson as Chairman He will take up the role as of 18 July after a Board meeting on that date. This comes after an extensive external search process following the current Chairman, Tim Clarke, notifying the Board in January of his intention to retire this summer. Sir Hugh has had a distinguished career in public service and in business. Aegean returns to BHX with twice-weekly Athens flights from spring 2023 Aegean Airlines, the Greek carrier, is returning to Birmingham Airport (BHX) after a five-year break. From March 28, 2023, Aegean will fly twice weekly between Birmingham and Athens (ATH). Tom Screen, aviation director for BHX said: “We are thrilled to welcome back Aegean. I’m sure these Athens services will be well subscribed.” One of its A320 aircraft will arrive into BHX at 0945 and depart to ATH at 1035 every Tuesday and Friday. Aegean will be the seventh Star Alliance carrier at BHX.
