Just booked Loganair's inaugural flight from Cardiff to Glasgow on the 27th February. Looking forward to flying with a new airline and a new aircraft type the E145. Cost with seat selection was £50.99 one way includes a complimentary snack and a 15kg checked bag as well as a 6kg cabin baggage. Really looking forward to seeing what Loganair are like as an airline!

I have been on their 145’s a few times. They seemed to still have the BMI seats in them with just a tartan head rest cover. The great thing on the 145 is to get an “A” seat so you can sit on your own giving the feeling of more space.

That's what I did. I booked 16A.

It looks like that from April Loganair will increase the Glasgow route from 8 weekly to 12 weekly by adding an evening flight on Monday to Thursdays.

I just did a test booking for 7th April from Cwl, two flights showing one at 12.15pm and the other at 20.25, the midday flight was showing as full. So it looks as though the airport does in fact have 4 more extra flights to Glasgow. The airport needs some good news after Thomas cook and FlyBE.

Good little boost for the airport, airline and the GLA route. 12 weekly on that aircraft size seems about right to me in terms of capacity and frequency.

Loganair have a few spare aircraft kicking around with a few route cuts, so there may be more opportunities for them to take on some more routes from CWL in the future.

It would be great if they could, the E145 is the right size for some former Flybe routes from CWL/

Without sounding a killjoy, the fact that the initial flights are now all showing as ‘sold out’ and off sale - might mean just a changing of times to the new later flights as apposed to a second flight?

I think you're right, no matter how far in advance you look, they come up as sold out. Shame, especially for the potential onwards connections the Glasgow route may have had to the Scottish islands etc.

Yes you are right; although this is the other way round; the old flights are now not on sale where the new ones are!

I suppose we'll have to wait and see but the evening departure would be a more business friendly time on a one daily flight.

Have they any spare aircraft or routes with gaps in to be able to operate to NCL

No idea but I'd imagine if they did look at the route I'd be surprised if they launched it in time for summer 2020.

If CWL is looking for a replacement carrier for NCL Loganair would seem the obvious airline to to approach.
